I think Santorum does not yet realize that there's a bigger anti-Santorum element in the GOP primary electorate than there is an anti-Romney contingent.

And I lay responsibility for that clearly at the feet of Rick Santorum.

Santorum wouldn’t have won Washington caucuses even if he had every Gingrich vote.

As my tagline says, Santorum is my guy, but what looks bad is that neither side of the conservative voters, Newt or Santorum, really wishes to give up his vote. The general public doesn’t like either one. No one cares about Romney either way except conservatives. Indies, apols, and Republicans are fine with Mitt.

Santorum has slightly more of a chance and would truly beat Romney if gingrich had dropped out today. Not sure if santorum dropped out today if newt could best romney.

So we get romney. Im just saying. that is what it looks like.

A lot of good FR’s Newt-love did us.

Next Rick should be asked whether Newt would beat Romney if only he (Rick) would drop out instead.

Santorum can shove it. I think he has been a spoiler ( encouraged by the party and media to divide votes) for a very long time. Gov. Perry did the most graceful thing to do; you just don’t see many people doing what he did. Like Newt has taken so much from the media, Romney and even negative ads from Rick Santorum. Newt remains statesman like. Newt did get very emotional when Romney took his first place away from him in Iowa, then Florida. The lies were too much for Newt. He rebounded with a new theory; has been positive with bold solutions since.

Newt understands America. Newt is the difference of night and day compared to Obama. The left wngers are posting on their sites, if Newt some how makes a come back and gets to the convention/takes enough of Romney’s uncommitted delegates, they will not allow Obama to debate Newt. Newt will go after their radicalism. I am with Newt, no more watching the decay. Live or die, freedom or tyranny. If the GOP-e liars take Newt out, no more GOP/I am gone and they can burn. 4 years of Obama or Obama lite. There is NO way that a man who gave the blueprint to socialized medicine should be representing the Republican Party.

Today, Cantor, comes out endorsing Romneycare Mitt. Sickening. Turn the rage against the machine, it’s our path to stopping Romney. We can do this. Support Newt, Super Tuesday. People can see Newt more of a man, a visionary than Romney is. Romney lies and attacks. How can you respect him? I can’t.

I wouldn’t vote for either Romney or Santorum. They are both total establishment, big-government guys. Santorum is full of prissy, unrealizable social-control ideas (just like Obama and Jimmy Carter, actually, and I bet we’d see him turning his thermostat to 68 and wearing his sweater vest in the WH to save energy...) and Romney is a loony Mormon who thinks he’s the fulfillment of a prophecy (just like Obama).

The only one who’s NOT like Obama is Gingrich.

Gingrich or Romney either one could win, I don’t see how Santorum could. We need to somehow or other get Santorum out of the race.

Maybe, maybe not but even though I support Santorum I’ll give the same aanswer as when Newt wanted Santorum to drop out. Let the voters decide.

Newt Gingrich will beat Romney sooner if you drop out, Rick Santorum, you whimpering captain of the Junior Squad.

Newt Gingrich does not alienate:

- The Tea Party
- Libertarians
- Protestants, for pity sake!
- Your fellow Catholics whom you embarrass.

Get off the stage and quit screwing things up for all of us.

Gingrich should have taken the honorable course that Pawlenty, Bachman, Cain, and Perry did and withdrawn after Santorum’s romp in winning the Trifecta. His presence is causing a split in the conservative vote and Romney is shooting through the breach. Had Gingrich dropped out, Santorum would have won in MI and the Romney candidacy would have been up in flames. Gingrich is now playing the role of “spoiler” and so we get Romney. Romney needs Gingrich’s role as spoiler. Romney knows this. The $64,000 question is why doesn’t Gingrich and his supporters know about it?

So what? The bottom line is if it wasn’t for Newt’s 6%, Santorum would have beaten Romney in Michigan. Winning Michigan has been great for the Romney spin machine in the MSM.

The double standard here is getting ridiculous. Gingrich essentially said the same thing when he was in the lead. Everyone applauded him and jeered Santorum when he said it.

http://www.nationaljournal.com/2012-presidential-campaign/gingrich-pushes-santorum-to-drop-out-20120131

In fact, since Santorum was lower in the polls at that point, people continued to yell for him to drop out and accuse him of being a closet Romney supporter whose job was to split the vote so Romney could get the nomination. Now Newt is lower in the polls and has lost to Santorum in multiple states, yet there are no such accusations toward Newt. No one is accusing him of being a closet Romney suppporter. No one is calling for him to drop out. In fact, despite the fact Santorum has a shot at knocking Romney out in Ohio, Tennessee, and Oklahoma, people are still saying that Santorum is in the way of Newt. They say Newt is the only one who can beat Romney. Lately, Newt can’t beat Santorum! The hypocrisy here is outstanding.

No he doesn't realize it and neither do his agitators here on FR.

Santorum is a cry baby. It's never his fault. It's Bush's fault he lost in 2006. He loves to lecture us on our lives. He's angry and petulant. He's like Obama without the personal charm. They certainly agreed on Sonya Sotomayor's great qualifications for judicial appointment.

Such a great conservative. /s

I think Santorum does not yet realize that there's a bigger anti-Santorum element in the GOP primary electorate than there is an anti-Romney contingent.

Anyone that favors Romney over Santorum isn't a conservative. RINOs and libertarians with a bug up their ass about social issues are the only ones that would favor Romney over Santorum.

Exiting polling shows Santorum in most states that have recently held primaries or caucuses overwhelmingly winning about the most conservative voters and those aligned with the Tea Party.
