HAMILTON, Ohio Newt Gingrich avoided criticizing Rush Limbaugh for publicly assailing Sandra Fluke over her testimony to Congress advocating for health insurance companies to cover birth control, but he was quick to attack President Obama, saying he acted opportunistically when he called the Georgetown Law student to express his disappointment in Limbaughs comments.
I think the president will opportunistically do anything he can, Gingrich said after a rally at the Back Porch Saloon. I think the most important use of language in the last week has been the presidents apology to religious fanatics, and I want to stay focused on what the president has said, and I think what he said was inexcusable and is exactly the wrong policy at a time of life and death, and playing political games is irrelevant as far as Im concerned.
After Limbaugh took to his radio show and called Fluke a slut for her stance on contraception, Obama phoned the woman Friday afternoon to extend his support.
Asked if thinks contraception will continue to be an issue in the presidential campaign, Gingrich said the problem is infringement on religious liberty, not contraception.
Its about the attack on the Catholic Church and the attack on every right to life institution and whether or not the government has the power to dictate to religious organizations, he said.

Good for Newt.
This reporter is lying, of course. Rush did not directly call Fluke a slut. He jokingly asked what do you call a “co-ed” who jumps into bed with lots of men and expects you to buy her condoms? A slut, maybe?
I’d call her a slut. Also, a 30-year-old pro-abortion activist, who deliberately staged this whole business and lied about her age.
Hey, if she wants to go to bed with guys who have fleas, that’s her business, but don’t expect me to pick up the condom bill. Or the medical bill for getting de-flea’d.
Newt has them pegged.
So proud to have given my vote for him in Michigan!
OK OK so I let the headline influence my post.
My bad.
Bingo
There you have it, the ONLY candiate in this race who actually has a BRAIN!
Its her box, she can haul coal in it.
Just don’t tax me for your bushiness.
RIGHT ON! Brother!
What? Saint Torum is not the leader we want?
But he’s so pure /s
Bingo. Nice comeback, Newt.
WAKE UP AMERICA! Newt is the only one running that has the stone’s to take on Obama and his communist pal’s. Newt understands the underlying tone of what Rush is trying to get across.
The moon-bats at NOW have opened the door for a debate next week. They and the media chomped on Rush’s bait. How are they going to defend the viral attacks on Palin? Rush will have clip after clip of their slime next week.
Oh, and when Rush brought up Maher’s contribution based on his comments of the past and present....golden!
I stand, I stand for the freedom of this generation and that of my children and grand children.
An adult answers the lefts rancid attempts at breaking down the 1st amendment. Ricky could learn something here.
This one issue is a mere ruse....like everything else with Obamacare is okay.
Brilliant! Newt won’t allow them to frame the argument! He turns the spotlight back on the “real” offender!
Is there anyone on the planet that thinks Obama was genuine in calling this Fluuke gal to console her?
She has been itching for this fight and so has Obama.
It’s all political Kabuki theater.
Bottom line is nobody is being denied contraception.
Heck they are giving it away on tax dollars now!, but what this is about is the Feds putting the boot on the throat of church doctrine.
In classic form, the dems make it out to be about the Church brutalizing the rights of Federal citizens.
Nobody forced this Fluuke bitch to go to a catholic university or a catholic church.
She herself researched this issue and decided to infiltrate the place to MAKE THEM CHANGE.
The eye on the prize.
Ricky’s a sanctimonious jerk.
oh, that’s so predictable that Rick would throw Rush under the bus. Can you send me a link to that?
The “kicker” is she could go to any PP in her area and get what she wants. She is attacking the Church. You notice she didn’t do this at Berkeley.
Gingrich said the problem is infringement on religious liberty, not contraception: Its about the attack on the Catholic Church and the attack on every right to life institution and whether or not the government has the power to dictate to religious organizations
Once again, Newt is right on the mark!
VOTE NEWT on March 6 and on November 5!
