Not so fast. When it comes to delegates, it turns out Mitt Romney did not win Michigan.
ABC News projects that the 30 delegates awarded based on Michigans Tuesday primary will be evenly split 15 delegates for Mitt Romney and 15 delegates for Rick Santorum.
Mitt Romney may have won the overall vote by a margin of 3 points , but Michigan awards its delegates based on how the candidates did in each of the states 14 congressional districts, not solely on the popular vote totals.
The system works like this: the winner of each Congressional district gets two delegates. Two additional delegates are awarded based on the overall statewide vote one delegate for the first place winner and one delegate for the second place winner if he gets more than 15 percent of the popular vote.
Rick Santorum and Mitt Romney split the states congressional evenly, each triumphing in seven.

(((((PING)))))
Mitt Romney spent $4.3 million to split Michigan’s delegates with Rick Santorum....$285K per delegate.
That does put a different shine on things, eh?
The Inevitability of Mitt Romney, as based on decades of GOP (good ol’ punks) next-in-line BS should remain in doubt. There are too many of us who don’t buy in.
Theoria: “$285K per delegate.”
Problem is, he can afford it. Maybe we should just auction the presidency to the highest bidder. Mitt Romney would probably prefer that to this messy campaign business.
Good.
I’ve lost track. Is this the 2nd or 3rd time the media has lied about who one, favoring romney?
Reads like an Obama job program. “285 K per job.”
Pretty sure 3rd. Twice Santorum (Iowa and Michigan) and once Paul (Maine).
Ping!
I don’t know what the big deal is with Michigan, Iowa, and the rest of the democrat states, they will never give their votes to a Rep. anyway.
Rick is still in a good position, which is why Ann Coulter wants him to drop out.
I count 3 times.
Doesn’t matter. The lemmings out there heard “Mitt wins!” and off they go about their day. Yesterday, Levin asked Romney voters to call in and explain why they did/were going to vote for Mittens. All I heard call after call was “Olympics” and “Executive experience”. When pressed by Levin it was “uuhhhh.. errr... Olympics, executive experience”.
Sad, sad, sad.
Did she say that before the Michigan primary, or after?
FReepmail Antoninus to be added or removed.
“I dont know what the big deal is with Michigan, Iowa, and the rest of the democrat states, they will never give their votes to a Rep. anyway.”
You might be in for a surprise this election. It is 0bama on the other side, remember? Consider the Reagan landslide against Jimmuh Carter.
I think many of the good folks in Michigan, Iowa and other Dem or “independent” states have about had their fill of old 0, and any alternative is going to look good come November. Especially after a summer of $5+ gas and rolling electricity blackouts...
But we never give our votes to a rep anyway.
Apparently not: Mitt Romney, facing money challenges, aggressively seeks donations.
Funny thing about rich folk, most of them hate spending (their own) money. I wonder why...
At any rate, I think things are looking very good for someone besides Plastic Mitt to be the Republican nominee. =:-D

If he wastes HIS MONEY like that, what’s he going to do with ours??
