Romney and the White Horse Prophecy

When Mitt Romney received his patriarchal blessing as a Michigan teenager, he was told that the Lord expected great things from him. All young Mormon men — the “worthy males” of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, as it is officially known — receive such a blessing as they embark on their requisite journeys as religious missionaries. But at 19 years of age, the youngest son of the most prominent Mormon in American politics — a seventh-generation direct descendant of one of the faith’s founding 12 apostles—Mitt Romney had been singled out as a destined leader.

--Snip--

was humming with talk that its president, Mitt Romney, would become the first Mormon president of the United States. “If not Mitt, then who?” was the ubiquitous slogan within the elite organization. The pious world of BYU was expected to spawn the man who would lead the Mormons into the White House and fulfill the prophecies of the church’s founder, Joseph Smith Jr., which Romney has avidly sought to realize.

--snip-- Smith prophesied that if the U.S. Congress did not accede to his demands that “they shall be broken up as a government and God shall damn them.” Smith viewed capturing the presidency as part of the mission of the church. He had predicted the emergence of “the one Mighty and Strong” — a leader who would “set in order the house of God” — and became the first of many prominent Mormon men to claim the mantle.

--snip--

Romney is the product of this culture. At BYU, he was idolized by fellow students and referred to, only half jokingly, as the “One Mighty and Strong.”

The article contains more, and obviously in this secular article they fail to mention it, but "the one Mighty and Strong" riding on a "White Horse" sounds an awful lot like the anti-Christ "White Horse" of Revelations.

I am not saying Romney ~IS~, but could be if true. As a born-again Christian; I feel it necessary to warn everyone. Call me nuts, but facts are facts (and this "prophecy" is a fact of history that both Smith and Brigham Young endorsed), and so are the actual prophecies of The Apostle John (who was inspired by the Holy Spirit to write what God showed him The Revelation or Apocalypse)..and this is eerily paralleled. -Just sayin.

I do not agree with Romney, but suggesting that he is the antichrist is pure bullcrap.

I think people on all sides are becoming desperate.

I have always been for Newt; some members here if you go back and read their posts, they go with the flavor of the poll; I don't like Mitt and think this is way over.

What I find freaky about religion and the 2012 primary, is that if a Catholic Bishop, especially one believed to be destined to become a Cardinal or possibly Pope after his Presidency, were running for the GOP nomination, he and his church would come under deep scrutiny.

Bishop Romney is that guy, except not in a Christian church, but in a secretive cult.

As a Bishop and then a Stake President, Bishop Romney is expected to ascend higher in the Mormon church to at least the level of Cardinal, and possibly to the position of Prophet or Pope, as his uncle was in line to be when death claimed him. Mitt is also the son of a Bishop and is believed by many Mormons to be the fulfillment of the White Horse Prophecy.

Actually, in the Greek, anti can mean instead of as well as against. John spoke of many anti-Christ’s, just as Jesus spoke of many false Christ’s. The references are parallel. Romney doesn’t have to be THE antichrist to be AN antichrist, and considering how completely Mormonism swallows up and displaces the simplicity of the Gospel, I do not find it a stretch to see Romney in that role.

Post what you find, JSDude1.

There is lots we all need to hear and sort out....don’t know what we can do, but ignorance is not a good defense.

We have Pres Zero, whose male ancestors were all Muslim or Mao Mao and himself a recent adherent to black lib theology bowing to Saudi Kings and apologizing for burned korans....you guys know the whole list so I won’t repeat...leading us to doom.

And now the GOP elite trying to body jam us with the follower of another false prophet who might just be trying to self actualize their view of the future.

Lord. I miss Clinton and Nixon. Both were weenies, but neither were trying to remake the times and the seasons.

Why couldn’t the Amish have an end times savior to offer us? They bake great pies at any rate and couldn’t use drones to spy on us or even tap our phones and e-mails.

Anybody who was in the top 2-3 spots, who believed the elected leader of their church was a prophet of God, would come under intense scrutiny during the primaries if they were a Christian.

But a Mormon? Nope. Why? The MSM is just waiting and hoping he gets the nomination so they can then bring it up.

If, God forbid, Willard gets the nomination, you can bet the MSM will make damn sure that all potential voters know things like Romney's allegiance to a man who falsely claims to be a prophet of God.

They will do a hit job on the Mormon religion. Couple of folks who are Mormon who live on my street, I brought it up, and both of them were worried about what the MSM would do to their religion if Willard gets the nomination.

This is speculative, and not terribly well written, but there are some worrisome things lying under some of those rocks.

The Catholic Church has declared that priests, let alone bishops, have to stay out of politics. It’s one thing or the other, but not both.

It is certainly noticeable that the LDS Church seems to be very interested in politics, and also in money making.

The flip side of how the media will go after Bishop Romney’s Mormonism after a nomination, is that the conservative media would become the most effective Mormon apologists that the cult has ever seen.

Already some radio talk show hosts and conservative columnists have taken on the role of legitimizing and mainstreaming Mormonism to their mostly Christian audiences.

I am likely to piss off many Christians on this Forum. As a former LDS Church member, who served a Mission to Zurich Switzerland in 1976-1978. I am now a practicing Nichiren Shoshu Buddhist. Those who believe Mormons are robots, brain washed and who are mindless drones. Are themselves fools, bigots and idiots.

There is a number of dissidents and dissenters wihin the Church. As long as they do not claim to speak for the Church, they are ignored. There was years ago a magazine sold in Utah that promoted their viewpoint.

There are many blogs and forums of Ex Mormons. Former President Ezra Taft Benson’s grandson left the church and has written in opposition to its teachings.

Mormons most of them are honorable, decent, family oriented folks who are devoted to their religion, consider themselves Christians and are decent neighbors. Some are too trusting and fail to recognize Snake Oil salesmen, and predators.

Those who consider there is some kind of conspiracy are gullible “Kool Aid” Drinkers spouting laughable nonsense. My problem with Mitt is he is not Conservative enough for me. He is in my view “Conservative Lite”.

Not a Romney supporter at all in the primaries. I’m in the same boat as your neighbors. I’m afraid of what the MSM will throw on their newscasts if Romney is the nominee.

Some will be true, some will be half true, some will be outright lies. A lot of it won’t have one tiny bit to do with Romney being president but it will still be on the national nightly news just for shock value.

The usual things of “Jesus and Satan were brothers” and “magic underwear” will be mild and us LDS members will be wishing for the days that’s all we had to put up with.

I do not think you are nuts - I have had many of the same concerns but have been hesitant to vocalize them. I have studied a fair amount about the Mormon church. We lead mission trips to an orphanage in Mexico and several years ago a Mormon group came in to “serve” under false pretenses. (They claimed to be a group of homeschooling families from San Diego (which a few of them were) but most of their group was from Salt Lake and included one of the “High Priests” from the Temple. They were very deceptive and we quickly realized that they were trying to use the Mission's good name and reputation in the area in order to gain access.

The very first moment I met the “group leader” I knew that there was something evil and manipulative about him. Several of us tried to engage in conversations with him and he would say one thing to one person and something totally different to someone else. The first time I heard Mitt Romney speak, I got the exact same feeling. The Muslims call it Taqqiya - which is a doctrine meaning that it's totally OK to lie if it furthers the cause of Islam. I don't know if the Mormons have a word for it but it's very clear that they practice it. Many Mormons are good people who are trying hard to serve others and share God's love - but by the time you get as high up as Romney is, there is a lot of really strange, secretive stuff happening.

I will NOT vote for Romney under any circumstances and I urge all Christians to find out about the beliefs and practices of the Mormon church before they make their choice.
