Oh, oh.
Obama will not be pleased with The Rahm Father of Chicago not buying millions of dollars in vehicles from Obama Motors.
"Rahm, about those cars you ordered..."

....It's got a cop motor, a 214 cubic inch plant, it's got cop tires, cop suspensions, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters so it'll run good on regular gas.

Does Gubmint Motors even have an entry in the cop car market? I see a lot of new Chargers in black these days but that's about it, other than the venerable Crown Vic which some departments clearly see no need to replace.

“...given that the vehicles are built just south of the City at Fords Chicago Assembly Plant.”
The Torrence Avenue Ford assembly plant is entirely within the Chicago city limits.
In fact, when Richie Daley was trying to build a new airport in that area, they essentially gerrymandered the footprint of the proposed airport so that they could keep the plant in operation.
Having destroyed much of the industrial tax base of the city by regulating out of existence three steel mills and much of the heavy manufacturing, figure on the boys in City Hall doing everything they can to keep the Ford plant going.

:: the Michigan State Police found the EcoBoost-powered sedan could charge to 60 mph (in pursuit of criminals, of course) in as little as 5.92 seconds. ::
There was a time when MI-SP used Dodge Challengers for their highway interceptors.
I recall cruising I-94 at 70 MPH in a 350 Nova (in the days of Jimmah’s 55 Limit) and getting passed by a Ferrari. Mr. Smokey soon followed and pulling back and “pacing” me, he looks at his speedometer...shakes his head at me and punches his MOPAR 440.
At 70 miles an hour in forward motion, he squeals his tires! My jaw dropped.

The Ford Police Interceptor sedan is powered either by a 3.5-liter V-6 with 280 hp, or Fords EcoBoost twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V-6 with 365 hp. Even lowly Hyundai now offers a Hi-Po V8 engine pumping 429 horsepower.
Not that any red blooded American wrench turner would be caught dead in one.
