KABUL -- Afghanistan wants NATO to put on public trial those who burned copies of the Quran at a NATO base, President Hamid Karzai's office said Thursday, after a third day of bloody protests over the incident.

It said NATO had agreed to a trial, but that could not be immediately confirmed.

Karzai had earlier accused a U.S. officer of "ignorantly" burning copies of the Quran, in an incident that has deepened anti-Western sentiment in a country NATO is trying to stabilize before foreign combat troops leave by the end of 2014.

Demonstrations have drawn thousands of angry Afghans to the streets, chanting "Death to America!" amid violence that has killed 11 people including two U.S. service personnel.

Look how the people of Afghanistan have embraced peace with the West. All the hundreds of billions of dollars were worth it. Wait.

That’s a key that tends to get politically ignored:

lots of Islamic factions hate each other.

Foreign entanglements are a failure. Get back to Washington’s warning, the Monroe Doctrine, and the principle of isolationism and things would get better. Funny, just occurred to me that this penchant for foreign adventurism is similar to the penchant for the government cram-down we’re suffering here.

I’m not by nature a man that sees an entire group of people in a one size fits all frame of mind. When it comes to Islamic people, I’m hard pressed not to realize there is a serious down side to trying to play nice with them.

It’s like Siegfried and Roy. Things go great for decades, and all of a sudden the entity turns on you and severely wounds you.

I believe the West needs to close the door on new entries. I believe the West needs to find some way to encourage those already here to move back. If that amounts to some monetary enticement, I can live with it.

These people and their belief system is of their own choosing. I’m not going to fault them for wanting to live like they want. In the West, that belief system is pariahistic. They wish to challenge Christianity at every turn. They wish to push their own codes of justice, and those codes are a 180 degree turn from our own.

They want to be able to slaughter their own, on our soil.

This isn’t going to work.

I agree with your thoughts. I do think there are nice Muslims too. I just think it’s like trying to pet a cobra. At some point, you’re going to get a set of fangs in your neck, because you wanted to be nice to all people.

In a nutshell, we can’t be nice to all people, extend every right to them, and continue to exist as a people. We either stand up to the Islam machine, or we are absorbed.

For the past six years, military relations between the United States and Afghanistan have been governed by a two-page ‘diplomatic note’ giving U.S. forces virtual carte blanche to conduct operations as they see fit.

Although President Bush pledged in a 2005 declaration signed with Afghan President Hamid Karzai to ‘develop appropriate arrangements and agreements’ formally spelling out the terms of the U.S. troop presence and other bilateral ties, no such agreements were drawn up.

We have no SOFA agreement with Afghanistan. H.R. 651 is still stuck in committee.

“It said NATO had agreed to a trial,,,”

If this is true,, and a Soldier is put on trial at the demands of these savages. Then it is just and justified to have millions of like minded Americans march on Washington to remove this government.

DC,, not Kabul is the problem.

no matter WHAT status of forces agreement exists,,or doesn’t,,, it would be an outrage for our government to place a soldier on trial. Especially at their demand.

The fact that they feel like making such a public demand PROVES that our attack was not violent enough. It did not break their hearts until they lost the will to resist.
We should have attacked everything dear to them. Yes,,they have such things.

Everything he says or does now tells anyone with a brain that he is either Taliban or bought off by them.

I’ve asked members of the Military, who have served over there the question of who are our friends over there? One senior NCO replied, “You mean this week?”

We can’t, and never will. Afghanistan supplies 90% of the Worlds Opium. We have kept the routes used to ship this much needed opium open for 50 years. But it was getting harder and harder to procure opium on the open market, now that we are in Afghanistan, Opium and Heroin are making a comeback in the US Big Time. We need Afghanistan to be in the Opium Business more than anyone here would ever believe. Without Drugs we Cannot have a War on Drugs. We will give in to their demands solely to keep the freeflow of Opium to the World.

I spent Friday morning on the phone to many offices of Senators and Congressmen, expressing my outrage that our President apologized to the corrupt President of Afghanistan over the Koran burning. I told them that I live in Delaware, the home of Dover Air Force Base, where the bodies of these two Americans are being flown to, to be processed at the mortuary for shipment to their mothers, who have just received telegrams informing them of their sons’ deaths—FOR NOTHING!!

I told them it is time to stop all funding for Afghanistan theater operations, to declare victory, and to bring the boys home—NOW!! Not in 2014.

I told them that that hellhole of a country, Afghanistan, is not worth one more American limb, one more American life, one more American dollar.

Our SOB “Resident” has purposefully stuck us in our collective eye again. He should be booed and protested everywhere he goes, without let up, by protestors.

The Conrad family and the family of the other soldier have now been forced into a hell on earth with the loss of their sons. And over what—the burning of the printed pages containing the absurd bastardized religious writings of an insane, blood-thirsty pedophile?

This was the war that Obama said he could win if given the chance. He has shown he is not worthy of the title of either President or of Commander in Chief.

If Freepers feel the same way, you must make the calls yourselves on Monday to your representatives—it is time to stop the insanity in Afghanistan. Bring the boys home before more telegrams have to be sent to more beleagured families of soldiers in Afghanistan combat zones.

Because two weeks after we leave, the Taliban will be in control anyway. And I hope that the drug running useful idiot Karzai is strung from a tree by them, like he deserves.

Islam is not a religion; it is a death cult. And it is feeling a resurgence of power worldwide. It respects nothing except overwhelming force, and history of the last 1400 years shows us that is the only thing that checks its relentless bloodfilled march.

I will not surrender my Christianity or my culture to Islam.

With all that said, I give my condolences and prayers to the family of Cpl. Conrad and the other murdered soldier, and my thanks to them for the costly sacrifice they have laid upon the altar of American freedom. God bless and keep them
