Warren wasn’t as bad as you might think. He was naive in his cabinet appointments and it was they who were responsible for Teapot Dome and others. There was a lot of corruption going around at that time but it doesn’t appear that Harding was involved.

Washington is Number 1.
Pick the second best from there and then we can debate, but there is no debate in my mind about the best. It was George Washington.
No President has topped old George, or even come close, IMHO.
We owe that man so much.

Warren G. Harding (kidding!) Warren G. Harding (not kidding!) A successful depression-fighter who significantly downsized the federal government.

Reagan was good, but Washington was the best.

Actually, Harding was one of the most effective. A lot of what Coolidge gets credit for was Harding’s work.

Hands down, George Washington.
Over the course of my life, everything I have learned about George Washington (after the inability to tell a lie and that kind of stuff) has brought me to the conclusion that George Washington is likely one of the greatest men to have ever lived.
A distant second for me is Calvin Coolidge...:)

But, I still like Ike! Eisenhower did a better job than most give him credit for. And the reason for that is because Eisenhower never looked for credit or applause. He liked to keep low key and just make things happen.
Now, they all want to be Rock Stars taking credit for things they didn't do and blaming others for things they did do.
It's all Show Biz now, Eisenhower was the last non Show Biz president.

Washington should be top ... period.
Basically without him there would be no USA and/or we would have a king instead of the gov’t we have today (though that ain’t saying much these days).
