Trump Takes Hatchet to Santorum
FOX 8 Cleveland ^ | Feb 20, 2012 | By Gregory Wallace, CNN

Posted on 02/20/2012 9:45:52 AM PST by Bulwinkle

Donald Trump demonstrated Monday that he has no qualms about going after one of Mitt Romney’s chief rivals, Rick Santorum.

“There’s nothing — there’s no gift, no Christmas gift, that could be given better than Rick Santorum to the Democrats,” Trump said in a radio interview which aired in Michigan. Democrats, he continued, “are just salivating at that. And, you know, I don’t think they believe it’s going to happen. But boy, would they like it to happen because that would be an easy election.”

RE :”Trump is still having a hissy fit because his boy Romney has tanked even more since his endorsement. Ha ha! Gotta love it.

Don't forget he threatened to ‘jump in’ the race if he doesnt like the nominee. I guess that was supposed to scare us into supporting his guy.

Trump is the ultimate gullibility meter. Anyone who believes what he says is a good candidate for selling those extenz pills to, or if female selling her that secret face cream that restores her face to when she was 20, when she is 50+. Wasnt that bee poo cream? LOL

I have to echo some of the other comments:

Why on earth would any sane person give "anti-Santorum" weight to the words of a man who has endorsed Mitt Romney? If he were so worried about Gingrich's standing, wouldn't Trump have endorsed Gingrich?

Those who are applauding this move by Trump had better realize that they're giving de facto applause to the Romney campaign.

It is time for Donald Trump, the phoney windbag to take a hike. And it is time that the Fox network, once a voice for conservatism, but no longer, stop giving Donald the jerk a forun for his rants.

Folks, I am not convinced that Santorum is problem free, but it has astounded me to see how many FReepers are perfectly willing to crawl over the dead political bodies of the other candidates, to place a knife in his back.

I remember back just one month when the leading candidate couldn’t have anything said about him, because that would ensure us Romney as the nominee. In fact, we still can’t address that person openly, now that they are in third place and flagging terribly.

Now however, it’s perfectly fine to hunt down every Leftist driven attack article on our current leader and spatter them across this forum, and to hell with any concern about Romney benefiting.

Evidently there isn’t any concern about Romney getting the nomination now. Good to know. Terribly damning, but good to know. We might just as well be up front about it, right?

Rasmussen Reports Today: In a potential Election 2012 matchup, the president leads Mitt Romney by a 46% to 42% margin. If Rick Santorum is the Republican nominee, the president leads 47% to 44%.

Santorum is doing a little better against Obama than Romney. Plus Santorum never passed Obamneycare, which is what will defeat Obama, provided that we don't nominate Romney. You do not even want to get me started on how poorly New Gingrich is doing head-to-head against Obama.

Since the admonisher is Trump; while I agree w/his assessment, because he is the insufferable, “The Donald,” I'd almost rather “shoot the messenger!” (Who the heck cultivates such an inflated image of himself as to infer that the word “The” should be affixed to his first name like it's some sort of title or honorific??? ...as in “The President” or “The Pope???!!!”)

For a host of reasons, Rick's not my guy; but, I hope he beats the crap our of “Myth” in Michigan!

GO NEWT!!!/go RICK!

How did this life long Democrat become an expert on GOP politics ?

Surely you jest.... the PROUD GOP establishment parties at the same parties that Trump attends... He knows them better than we do. He also knows the 'real' Santorum is a 'social justice' politician. See put a room full of those so called 'evil' 1% rich and there is not a dimes worth of difference in their beliefs. They all know who to pay off to keep them in their 1% gold standard.

Anyone think for one minute the 'rich' are driven by God fearing principles... I have had the best laugh today listening to Rush BS his audience that he has 'social conservative' principles....

I suggest Trump stick to picking washed-up, washed-out has-beens for his dumb TV show.

"“There’s nothing — there’s no gift, no Christmas gift, that could be given better than Rick Santorum to the Democrats,” " I agree with Trump 100% on that statement. I also believe that as folks see what a dunce Santorum is over the next couple of weeks he'll drop 20 points in the polls. He'll keep his base of 20% of the GOP electorate.

Agree 1--%. Rick shot his wad witha bit of religious rhetoric which will fade soon. He doesn't seem to be much of a real thinker.

It used to be Anybody But Romney. It isn’t anymore. It is either my guy that isn’t beating Romney at the moment, or I will burn the whole house down and give y’all Obama.

As for Trump, he isn’t a conservative, never will be, and he hates socially conservative people.

Trump wants to tell us about gifts to democrats? He ought to know a little about that:

http://www.newsmeat.com/billionaire_political_donations/Donald_Trump.php

Sure he has given to some republicans, but he has been a good friend of the democrats, too.

He has given thousands to Schumer, Reid, Specter, Weiner, Clinton and Gillibrand.

Here is a rough summary of his giving to various campaigns:

$184,650* Republican
$252,900 Democrat
$376,083 special interest
total: $813,633

Whatever, Mr. Trump. Don’t preach to us about helping democrats.

The only conservative bono fidis vein in the Santorum is on the family issues.

It's 'jump on the frontunner' time. Which I see you're doing. Have a nice day.
