Obama’s White Whale: How the campaign’s top-secret project Narwhal could change this race
Slate ^ | Feb. 15, 2012 | Sasha Issenberg

Posted on 02/16/2012 9:16:26 AM PST by iowamark

On Jan. 22, a young woman in a socially conservative corner of southwestern Ohio received a blast email from Stephanie Cutter, a deputy campaign manager for Barack Obama. Years earlier, the young woman had registered for updates on Obama’s website, completing a form that asked for her email address and ZIP code...

But Cutter’s note was different. She boasted of a new administration rule that would require insurance plans to fully cover contraception as part of the president’s health care reform law, and encouraged her recipients to see the policy as reason to rally around Obama’s re-election. “Think about how different that is from what the candidates on the other side would do,” Cutter wrote. “Our opponents have been waging a war on women’s health—attempting to defund Planned Parenthood, overturn Roe v. Wade, and everything in between.”

It was a message that sat well with the young Ohioan who received it. She was single, liberal, sensitive to medical costs—but she had never told the campaign any of those things, and the one piece of information she had provided, her ZIP code...

This year’s looming innovations in campaign mechanics will be imperceptible to the electorate, and the engineers at Obama’s Chicago headquarters racing to complete Narwhal in time for the fall election season may be at work at one of the most important. If successful, Narwhal would fuse the multiple identities of the engaged citizen—the online activist, the offline voter, the donor, the volunteer—into a single, unified political profile....

Full data integration would allow the campaign to target its online communication as sharply as it does its offline voter contact. When it comes to sensitive subjects like contraception, the campaign could rely on its extensive predictive models of individual attitudes and preferences to find friendly recipients...

” “Think about how different that is from what the candidates on the other side would do,” Cutter wrote. “Our opponents have been waging a war on women’s health—attempting to defund Planned Parenthood, overturn Roe v. Wade, and everything in between.”

So murdering your baby is now called “women’s health”.

Interesting how the right to murder the unborn is categorized as "women's health".

Well, how about the mental health of the many women who later realize that they had murdered their child and now do not know how to cope with that realization?

Noone is taking away access to birth control. We just want you to pay for your own.

I dont mind buying you a box of abstinence though. It works just as well.

It’s certainly not healthy to be an unborn woman

The problem is that the generation who put pen and paper to the legal right to abortion is still in charge. Until every judge, politician, and social services advocate who was part of the legislation is gone, you will not see any change. It’s like one judge overturning another sitting judges ruling. It rarely occurs. Once the judge is dead, it’s routine.

It’s amazing to see the 20-something morons “working” for Obama. They really, really, really, should NOT be allowed to vote. They are so stupid they don’t understand what Obama has done to them. They will never have a good job once they leave the indictrination mill....

NO IRS 1040 obligation = NO VOTE!

I wonder how many of those young women who are "sensitive to healtcare costs" think nothing of dropping $5 for a pack of cigarettes -- nearly every day.

Looking at the kids in this Obama re-election photo makes me want to puke. Never worked a day in their lives. Everything handed to them by mommy and daddy (or mommy and mommy).

Around here, smokers would love to get them that cheaply!

An old movie “Looker” sort of predicted the artificial candidate, tho mostly it was about super models (Susan Dey) It is on NetFlix as a dvd only, not instant play. Worth a look, no pun intended.

I wonder if these same people who are fine with obama just willy nilly telling an industry what they have to provide free, would love for him to mandate cigarette companies give their products away?

How long before there would be no cigarettes to support their dirty habit?

How many of them know that most of the cost of their pack of cigarettes are tax? Why doesn’t obama help them out by getting rid of that tax?

How do we get through to the mushy minds that the left moves around like pawns on a chess board?

One of the dirty words defined during the Clinton-era healthcare ‘debate’ was “cost-shifting”. It was ‘bad’ then as it described the healthcare providers’ shifting the cost of uninsured healthcare onto those that were insured, thus increasing their annual premiums.

Now we have Obama doing the same thing for contraceptives, abortions and the like. He’s ordering the insurers of catholic organizations to provide those services and ‘shift the cost’ onto others that they insure. I guess he figures that he can buy off their consciences by meeting the minimum requirement of paying for this activity?

Pretty obvious that Obama is not a religious person. If he were, he’d understand and respect the moral argument here.

Noone is taking away access to birth control.

They know this, and it doesn't bother them to lie.
Their prophet is Nietzsche, and their only morality is their Will to Power.

It’s sick. Cutter and her ilk are demented deceivers. As reflected in the article, they successfully prey on young women.
