Obama chief of staff: No more compromise, contraceptive rule is done deal (FUBO!)

Despite renewed statements of concern by Catholic leaders, the Obama administration is done negotiating and will finalize its plan requiring insurance companies to provide free contraception to women working and studying at religious institutions, President Obama's chief of staff said Sunday.

Jacob Lew told "Fox News Sunday" that the compromise offered last week to address objections by the Catholic Church is clear and consistent with the president's "very deep belief that a woman has a right to all forms of preventive health care, including contraception."

"We have set out our policy," Lew said. "We are going to finalize it in the final rules, but I think what the president announced on Friday is a balanced approach that meets the concerns raised both in terms of access to health care and in terms of protecting religious liberties, and we think that's the right approach."

On Friday, Obama revised his decision to require all employers to provide contraceptive care after Catholic organizations balked that it is an intrusion on the Church's religious liberty to require it to provide birth control. The president changed the mandate to shift the burden to insurance companies to provide free access to birth control and other forms of contraception.

Precisely. That's what's so scary about this whole thing. The way the health care bill was rammed through congress and the bypassing of the legislative process in its implementation is setting us up for some tough times ahead.

Just wait, you don’t know the half of what is going on. You should see what is happening in WA State.

The Democrat legislature is trying to pass a series of bill that will essentially destroy the elective process.

We have all mail-in voting in WA state. Now, they want to add same day registration. so, if you aren’t a registered voter, you can vote on voting day, but others must mail in their ballots, before noon on voting day. While they don’t open the inner ballot ahead of voting day, they do open the outer envelope, from which they can tell what precinct the voter lived in. So, by extrapolation, they can get a rough estimate of voter turn out from each party. They turn these figures over to the parties in several increments during the voting period.

The other bill is what I call, the Heads we win, Tails You Lose bill. In addition to all mail voting, we also have district wide voting, meaning that the cities get to vote on who represents the suburban ad rural districts, as well. So, if that isn’t bad enough, the Democrats have proposed a bill that would allow any minority to challenge the election results by claiming that their vote was diluted by the district wide voting process and that they were essentially disenfranchised. Of course, these minorities all vote Democrat, so this would only come into play if a Republican won. So, It’s heads, Democrats win, Tails, Republicans Lose.

Then there is the move to have extra-legislative bodies pass land use regulations and manage funds collected from mitigation fees, permits and fines, to train a corps of brown shirt neighbors to spy on other neighbors and report their land use activities to these appointed extra-legislative boards.

This issue is NOT all about just Catholics and birth control. It is about taking away the FREEDOM of our religious institutions. ALL of them!

Southern Baptist have vowed to go to jail to protect these freedoms that Obama seems to think that he can take away by edict.

Obama had better think twice about bucking the Baptist on our Religious freedoms. Pastors are taking this issue to the pulpit and we are willing to go to jail if necessary.

Barky has just lost the election.

Not if we sit back and expect it to be handed to us. There are a lot of religious Democrats, including Catholics. Conservatives and Tea Party members need to reach out to them and take them away from the Democrats. Anyone whose freedom has been recinded should be openly encouraged to join us.

I’m of the firm belief that there should be no “voting alternatives”, such as “mail-in” voting, “provisional ballots”, “absentee ballots” (except in special circumstances), “early voting”, etc.

ALL of this corrupts the integrity of the system and affects the outcome. Sometimes this is “inadvertent”. Other times the corruption is “by design”.

EVERYONE should be required to register far enough in advance so that the registration can be verified before the election, NO EXCEPTIONS.

EVERYONE should be required to physically show up at the polls ON ELECTION DAY, and vote only after presenting valid I.D. NO EXCEPTIONS (see below).

The ONLY persons who should be offered the opportunity for “absentee ballots” are those serving in the military, or working out-of-state or in school (as properly verified in advance), and senior/disabled/infirm persons who have (and can prove) physical disability in reaching the polling places. NO EXCEPTIONS OTHERWISE.

I also believe that no election results should be published until ALL ballots from ALL precincts, counties, towns, etc., have been received and tabulated. They can’t cheat if they have no idea who’s winning. Even if the election totals are not available for 24-48 hours after the polls close, this helps to ensure that the results can’t be tampered with.

Having written all that (it’s Sunday!), if you don’t like the way that Washington state does things, sad to say your only alternative is to move OUT of Washington to a state that adheres to more “traditional” types of elections. Washington is ‘way “tipped” towards the left/liberal side, if it hasn’t toppled all the way over. Conservatives just aren’t going to have much of a voice there in the times to come....

What does it mean if Obama has ‘’a very deep belief’’ in something yet is perfectly willing to compromise that belief within less than a week of public opposition? It means he’s completely driven by political expediency.

Unfortunately for Obama, the Catholic Church also has deeply-held beliefs which 2000 years of existence have proven it is not willing to compromise. Not to mention the deeply-held beliefs of the radical feminists whom Obama pretended to support with his original policy yet has now stabbed in the back for the sake of his selfish political interests. And then there are the insurance companies whose deeply-held belief in making a profit does not allow them to give away their products for free.

He hasn’t compromised anything and he hasn’t stabbed the feminists in the back at all. He’s given them even more than they got the first time around, because now this will be forced on everyone in a way that can’t even be separated off from the policy they are forced to buy, and also everyone will end up paying for it.

He also mentioned earlier when this was being discussed that the government would pay part of the costs, possibly through Planned Parenthood which would distribute the contraceptives, although I haven’t heard him say that again. Maybe he tipped his hand too early and his advisors told him to shut his mouth for a bit and just work on defeating the bishops first.

No president's "view" can ever become a Constitutional and legal law. Policy at no level can supplant the legislative branch of the U.S.

Period.

Until the Declaration of Independence, and the Bill of Rights have been uxpunged from our national identity, We the People have the absolute right to register our "redress and grievances."

Our elected representatives can ignore mail; they can disconnect their phones, they can turn off email. All verifiable actions.
I can't think of a clearer form of "high crime and misdemeanor" than the evasion of the duty they were elected to perform.
