Newt Gingrich will stay in the Republican presidential nomination contest despite an expected loss to Mitt Romney in Saturdays Nevada caucuses, the former speaker told The Washington Times late Saturday afternoon.
We had excellent fundraising meetings and calls yesterday, Mr. Gingrich said. Super Tuesday and beyond look good.
The Georgia native thus dispelled rumors circulating in the press that his campaign had scheduled a press conference for late Saturday, after the results were in from the Nevada caucuses.
We will probably be a solid second here with [Rick] Santorum in last place, Mr. Gingrich said, while acknowledging indirectly that attracting donors and voters in sufficient force to overtake Mr. Romney will be a challenge in the coming weeks.

Sheesh, they’re trying really hard now. These “rumors” are very strategic and have been a problem since the beginning, partly because the “conservative” press is on Romney’s side, and partly because the Romney forces are running an Obama-style media campaign.
I hope the RomneyZombies choke on this news.
GO NEWT, GO
Time to send him some more money.

AS I posted on the Thread about the announcement. My gentlemen new friend, from my caucus today, was a Reagan confidant, and, when I told him of the presser, immediately in my presence called the NV state Newt Campaign Manager and he said the same.. Newt is going to lay out his plan to win!
Why in the world would Newt drop out? This media machine for Romney is in full swing to get Obama re-elected.

I will send in another donation next week. I want him to fight on.
I am hoping that Palin will enter soon so the fundraising will take off to Newt.
HELLO, can you hear us now Mr. SanRomney. Mr. Rick is our Perot and he know’s it. POS!!!!!!!!
Liv-,you may or may not know, these rumors started this morning because Newt called a press conference for tonight- instead of a “victory party”. Speculation was he might drop out because he had no events scheduled.
Ruined my day— until now. -:)
None of them should. I am sick and tired of all this talk of candidates dropping out. We are on state number 5 out of 50. 10 percent of the states have voted. Every last one of them should stay until all states get a chance to vote.
They would lose with Romney than win with Gingrich. I was reading Romneys reaction to the good economic news. They seem to take the administrations point that things are looking up. Maybe they DONT want to win because they fear that things might collapse next year, after they have been in office for six months or so, and they will get the blame. Maybe they are looking forward to 2016, when things are so bad that anything they do will be viewed as positive.
Mitt-Witt better call in reinforcements from the Planet Kolob because he isn’t going to get rid of Newt that easily.
This is exactly what he is. Time for people to wake up to that truth.
Santorum is the ONLY one who can beat Obama. Take that to the bank as I now have confirmation. Newt has the most unfavorable rating out of the four.
Newt is the only one who has gotten any of my money....I do not think that he will win but I want him in it as long as possible....and hey, you never know...we might get lucky.
Thanks, I didn’t know...I didn’t really think he was expected to win NV, so I’m not surprised that it’s not a victory party. But I’m glad to hear the general consensus is that he is just redefining his strategy.
He said he’d fight on till the end, and I think he will.
The only reason anyone should drop out is if they have no more funds to continue, meaning the donations dry up. Otherwise, full steam ahead.
His website is: newt.org ..... Let’s send what we can to let Newt know we’re still here. I just sent another $20. But $10 or $5 would send the same message of support.
Thanks :)
I wish he would. That would let Santorum be the not Romney candidate.
