Gingrich says he will not drop out of the race tonight [Nevada LIVE THREAD]

Newt Gingrich will stay in the Republican presidential nomination contest despite an expected loss to Mitt Romney in Saturday’s Nevada caucuses, the former speaker told The Washington Times late Saturday afternoon.

“We had excellent fundraising meetings and calls yesterday,” Mr. Gingrich said. “Super Tuesday and beyond look good.”

The Georgia native thus dispelled rumors circulating in the press that his campaign had scheduled a press conference for late Saturday, after the results were in from the Nevada caucuses.

“We will probably be a solid second here with [Rick] Santorum in last place,” Mr. Gingrich said, while acknowledging indirectly that attracting donors and voters in sufficient force to overtake Mr. Romney will be a challenge in the coming weeks.

On deck for him are contests on Tuesday in Colorado, Minnesota and Missouri. His organizational structure is not evident within the first two states.

Uh, hello? Are we out of money? No campaign organized? How do we expect him to have a chance?

The left chose Robamney for us last fall, which is when I made that declaration.

It will be Robamney, someone they know will not do anything against the banksters, that is a RINO, that is a socialist-light, that will support all the leftists social policies, and that will lose the election anyway.

I won’t vote for him. Sorry. I’m done with having liberals and leftists narrowing down my choices. I’ll write in a candidate before I vote for another DemocRAT-light.

Santorum failed to qualify for the ballot in IN, IL, VA, & DC; also he does not qualify for all of the delegates in TN & OH.

Let me sick the words of the anti-Newters in their faces...if he can't get organized enough to get on the ballots, HE HAS NO BUISNESS BEING PRESIDENT.

He shares the same big-government ideas

Well, I think Gingrich is the best of the bunch but the only candidate I see who clearly wants a small government is Ron Paul. Too bad he talks about foreign policy like he's been hit with one too many Tomahawk missiles.

Ha ha yeah ironic. But I do think we need to somehow put a wrench in their info system. There has got to be a way to change the game on the Internet

Since money rules elections, the bankers rule the US. Both Romney and Obama owe their allegiance to Goldman Sachs et al. People in this country are fools to keep putting the banks in charge.

The last poll has Gingrich ahead on Romney in MN, 36 to 18. That gap will close quickly, given Romney’s money advantage, but Newt does have a shot in this state.

If Romney wins, and Paul goes third party, I will administer a self-lobotomy and become a Paultard.

They used the same trick against Fred Thompson.

The only thing that stopped Thompson was Thompson. He would rather been in Guantanamo than in that political campaign.

smartest thing Newt can do is support Ron Paul in all of the caucuses because Ron Paul has the organization. It would stop Mitt from getting the delegates needed to win and then he could take it to the convention. That’s how Newt gets there. The other alternative would have been to ensure everyone stays in the race and the delegates would have been split enough to keep Mitt from winning enough but with only 4 people in the race Newt needs Ron Paul to do very very well in the Caucasus states

I guess I should mention, I don’t see this happening. Newt doesn’t want to be seen as backing Ron Paul’s foreign policy but the truth is this is his best option (don’t split the Newt-Paul vote in Caucuses. Endorse him)

Do you think it’s possible for “them” to do the right thing, when we know how they want this to turn out? *sigh*

Good idea. Let Paul take from Mitt in the caucus states and Newt in the primary states. This will work until the proportional delegates end.
