Did you know that “bin Laden” is the vice president of the United States, or that the Civil War led to America’s independence? How about that Canada’s a state?
Well, that’s what some local students at (what appears to be) a Washington state high school think. In a video that’s probably a few hours from going viral, a young man decided to question classmates for a video called “Lunch Scholars.” It is anything but scholarly.

I know what we need to do — INCREASE GOVERNMENT SPENDING ON SCHOOLS! Because we all know, all the millions that have been spent in the name of the Department of Education have just not been enough!! /sarc.
I DO want to add — not ALL kids in the US are this dumb. Millions of homeschooled children could put them to SHAME and just may end up being the ones who save this godforsaken place ...
I knew when my daughter was in first grade, I pulled her OUT of the public schools. They were teaching the kids to read with whole language. I knew NOTHING about education, but I knew in my heart it was wrong.

These kids aren’t necessarily unintelligent. Rather, their intelligence has been squandered in government schools.
This is by design, and for the same reasons that 19th century Southern slave owners prohibited their slaves from learning to read. Today’s ruling elite does not want a truly educated population. Knowledgeable citizens with genuine analytical and critical thinking skills could seriously threaten the status of the ruling elite. That’s why more education spending by government correlates with less education.
This has been going on for decades, probably ever since the first Progressive movement took hold in the 1890s.
Then Cuba would be a fourth.

For his next video, he should ask those kids’ teachers the same questions.

I absolutely agree. We don’t necessarily have higher I.Q.’s than the average child of today. What is different is we were taught American History, Civics, and Geography. These children are given mini-lessons designed specifically to dumb down the youth of America. Ask a child about the Civil War and they will tell you it was fought over slaves. That is what they have been taught and tested on. Political Correctness has eliminated a lot of information as well. Don’t discuss Japan’s brutality during WWII because it may make a child of Japanese heritage feel “uncomfortable”. Instead, bypass that and just go to the part where the U.S. was morally wrong to use Atomic weapons.
A program on Canadian television (from just over the border from Buffalo, NY), “Royal Canadian Air Farce” did one of these man on the street interviews in the US but in reference to things in Canada. It was hilarious especially since those of us in border cities at least have a clue regarding Canada.
One of the questions was: “Canada uses a metric day of 25 hours. Do you think Canada should use a 24 hour day like the USA?” Everyone interviewed thought it would be in Canada’s best interest to switch to the 24 hour day and I think they did. {;^p}

My wife works at a supermarket. In her ten years there, she’s worked with at least 4 high school kids who couldn’t read an analog clock. A woman I work with said her HS daughter couldn’t tell time either.

Yeah, I know. I’ve been looking at every damn map I can find in an attempt to locate the other “7” states Barry claims exist.
Suspect if there are 57 states, Mawgli and Baloo the Bear (a.k.a.: Barack and Michelle Obama) are hiding them from the rest of us. They intend to be next Emporer and Empress of Norte Americana. Can’t be an Emporer without land to rule.

My ex-wife (1st wife) was a school teacher. A completely idiotic jackass!
To wit, she had (has) no understanding of the “electoral college”. She believed (believes) that we elect the POTUS based upon total votes, which drove her absolutely insane when GWB beat Gore. Tried to explain it to her, but she’s as dumb as a bag of hammers. Which explains why I finally divorced her.
Oh, did I mention, she teaches middle-school history.
That about sums up why I insisted that we send our daughters to Catholic school. It cost me an arm and a leg, but at least my daughters can think for themselves.
Free advice: Don’t marry a liberal minister’s daughter. They are as intelligent as pond scum.
