Ten Things You Should Do If You’re An “Anybody But Mitt” Republican, And One You Should Not
Hot Air ^ | February 1, 2012 | Mitch Berg

Let’s say, hypothetically, for just a moment here, that some of the pundits are right – that Romney’s landslide victory in Florida means he really might be inevitable.

I’ve heard more than a few of you Newt and Paul supporters out there; “If Romney wins, I’m staying home on election day”.

While I’m not especially passionate about Romney just yet, I’ll reiterate what an awful idea this is. Don’t go there, people.

I’ve got ten suggestions for much more-productive responses.

I think they are counting on enough crossovers to make up for the loss and that enough of us will fall in line. I won’t.

Voting for McCain made my stomach turn last time around but Palin made it at least palatable. Maybe if Romney chose Marco Rubio I would find it palatable to vote for Mitt.

Why?

Rubio is well on the way to becoming one of the compromising, back-stabbing RINOs you abhor.

Best not to setup someone whose tea-party credentials aren't all that great for the Presidency.

There is one good reason to vote for Mit Romney Do we really want Oboma to nominate 2 new Supreme Court Justices?

You mean like this?

“As governor of Massachusetts, Mitt Romney not only failed in this regard, he appointed a number of very liberal, if not radical, ‘living, breathing’-minded judges to the bench,” Barber said.

“Two that come to mind were extreme homosexualists Marianne C. Hinkle and Stephen Abany,” he said. “They both had a long history of pro-gay activism, yet Romney didn’t hesitate to put them on the bench.”

Oh wait, what was your point again?

Oh gud, Man... seriously? taking the purist route? You ever yell at your kids, flip someone off on the highway, curse your boss (under your breath)? Don’t bother, I know the answer... puritans hide away from society and create their own fiefdom, go there if you want, life is no better there than here...

That worked so well in 1996, Mitch. /s

Well, let’s just say Boehner will resist Obama more than he will liberal Mitt. It’s the difference between bending over backward to support a Republican (in name only) president’s agenda versus competition with a Democrat for appearances sake if nothing else. This is why some people wonder if a McCain presidency would have been worse, because it’s doubtful we would have had the 2010 conservative surge against a McCain presidency. With a center left Congress and the Marxist presidency split on party lines, we don’t shift left as fast.

Wow, who is this jerk of a liberal loser?

1. Romney was the fourth GOP Governor in a row, in a state that usually elects republican governors.

Go shooting to relax? is this romneybot mocking us by bringing up our sporting rifles while defending Romney?

“These guns are not made for recreation or self-defense,” “They are instruments of destruction with the sole purpose of hunting down and killing people.”

Even that's marginal advice. Look at happened under W and the GOP congress.

As unlikely as it's ever to be, if down ballot (Senate) candidates won and pulled more votes than Romney, the message might be heard. There's no way to craft that outcome, no way to assure the establishment won't dismiss and bury it. I doubt it'll happen on its own.

The only message they'll be unable to miss is a defeat of Romney followed by a defeat of Obama. The odds grow longer by the day, particularly on the second one.

Grow up?

Because I think voting for the pandering fraud from Mass is a useless waste of my time I should grow up?

Because I think the long term health of our nation is better served by maintaining my Conservative principles rather then continuing to settle for a RINO who grows goverment, just a little slower, I should grow up?

Because I believe that a Romney presidency would actually do more damage to the Republican brand, solidifying negative perception towards what Dems will claim are Conservative principles, I should grow up?

Yup these are the arguments the establishment uses to marginalize those who don’t get in line. Palin was spot on when she said the establishment types use the same tactics as the Dems.

My friend, if voting for Romney is the only mature and responsible outcome of his nomination then I will NEVER grow up!!

If you are willing to vote for a candidate, Mitt, who is still supporting his RomneyCare (Socialized Medicine) that still contains easy access to $50 abortions, then yes, I’m calling a spade a spade.

You sir are a liberal.

Not in the least bit. By you not voting against 0bama (Or throwing away your vote) you are helping to elect a man who said that if a child who was meant to be aborted lives, you should simply let that child die. 0Bama said it would be inconvenient to call a doctors. Also, you are helping to elect a “man” who (I believe) hates America and is destroying this nation by class warfare.

I don’t care for Romney, but if he’s the only one running against 0Bama in November, yes, I will vote for him.

I will vote, but not for Romney. Conservatism will be set back by a Romney win more than by an Obama win.

That is the problem. The media and liberal democrats will surely label Romney as a right wing extremist even though he'll be more close to their ideology.

My solution; Sarah Palin or some other choice runs independent as the tea party candidate. The tea party endorses and backs the tea party Republicans in congressional and senate races. In this way, we get our people to the polls rather than many of them sitting home. The result is we'll gain significantly in the House and Senate to stop the growth of government.

In the best case scenario, Palin/? could win and we'd be off and running. As unpopular as Obama and both parties have become, an independent, populist voice could have a chance to upset, imo.

It seems that’s exactly what they’re doing. There’s no way this isn’t a calculated decision they made, they’re politicians and politicos, they calculate these things to a tee, more than we ever will see. They had to have done this as a conscious decision. That being the case, they don’t get to have their cake and eat too by trying to blackmail the very conservatives whom they dismissed in their political calculations into voting for their establishment candidate. They made their calculations and acted upon them, now they must stand by and watch as conservatives do the same. They think they can do better by appealing to that nebulous “middle”, they need to go for it. They just need not get angry at conservatives for taking them at their word when they tell us to get lost.

Hell no!

The only ones helping to elect Obama are those:

1. Supporting Romney.
2. Or caving and accepting the Inevitable crap
3. Spouting the crap that if we don't vote for the eventually nominee, the implication being Romney, we are helping to elect Obama. Because by doing so, you are giving aid, comfort, and cover for the Progressive Liberal Mitt Romney.

Get off your knees and fight for your conservative principles.

No surrender, no compromise!

Rebellion was brewing!

What happens if Romney isn’t able to be elected? For whatever reason he drops out, health issue, something from the past etc.

It becomes a brokered convention?

Any candidate who shows up can be written in?
