White House Press Secretary Jay Carney says there are no constitutional rights issues involved in a regulation issued by the administration that requires all health-care plans in the United States to cover sterilizations and all FDA-approved contraceptives, including those that induce abortions.
Because the Catholic Church holds that sterilization, artificial contraception and abortion are morally wrong and Catholic cannot be involved in them, the regulation--in combination with the Obamacare mandate that all Americans buy health insurance--will force American Catholics to choose between following the federal regulation or following the teachings of their church.
I dont believe there are any constitutional rights issues here, Carney said when asked at todays White House briefing about the regulation.
The administration believes that this proposal strikes the appropriate balance between respecting religious beliefs and increasing access to important preventative services, Carney told reporters....

Blame the Catholic Church. How long have they allowed “Catholic” politicians to support abortion and gay rights issues?
The Church will fold on this if they can figure out a way to increase their power/wealth while doing so.

To all Catholics and the Catholic Church:
Tell oboma to shove it by refusing to do what this dictator is trying to dictate.
Resist and push back hard. Do not let this socialist/marxist/communist/fascist/revolutionary/muslim sharia law sympathizer DICTATE his demands.

The purpose of the second amendment is to rectify the situation when the purpose of the first amendment becomes unclear to politicians.

Don’t be so negative/cynical. Maybe this will be the thing that finally causes the situation to change for the better.

This regulation, along with the Obama Regime's deceitful characterization of it, is an absolute outrage! The Obama Regime is nothing short of Satanic in its pursuit of its Marxist and anti-American agenda. They speak Newspeak, not English. They ignore the trammels of civility, of legal procedure, and of morality. There is no limit to their iniquity. The Catholic Church, along with other traditional Christian denominations, has entered a time of persecution in our beloved American Nation. May God give us the faith, strength and grace to endure it.

But God help us if we want to say the Lords prayer in school. Or display a nativity scene. Constitutional problems all over that one.

A “constitutional right” is anything the American Left says it is.

Yes and expose them to all denominations and rally Christians world wide, as is our duty.
We must do Gods will, and defend the Unborn and helpless.

Presidents swear an oath to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States of America from all enemies, foreign and domestic. If trying to defeat the Constitution isn’t a breach of promise and grounds for impeachment then I don’t know what is.
What part of “Congress shall make no law” does he not understand ? And if Congress is forbidden to make that law so is he. He is forbidden by oath not to change the Constitution except by Constitutional procedure. Any other way is impeachable.

Zero is right in that Congress did not make a law restricting the free exercise of religion. There is no provision in the Constitution forbidding the President to inhibit the free exercise of religion.
Of course, neither does the Constitution enumerate the power for the President to inhibit the free exercise of religion by administrative fiat, but who cares about that? He gets away with the same thing in virtually any other venue all the time!

Ok...I’m done. I do not know about anyone else, but I am done. There will be no more tax dollars to this rogue government. Those tax dollars will be used to support Catholic and religious hospitals that honor Christ’s mission.

Simple. Progressives interpret the First Amendment guarantee as being “freedom from religion”. Other amendments, as well as articles, have similar leftist interpretations.
