AND NOW . . . amidst billowing clouds of fragrant, aromatic first- and second-hand premium cigar smoke. . . it is time for . . . that harmless, lovable little fuzz ball, the highly-trained broadcast specialist, having more fun than a human being should be allowed to have, from behind the golden EIB microphone, firmly ensconced in the prestigious Attila-the-Hun chair at the Limbaugh Institute of Advanced Conservative Studies, serving humanity simply by showing up, and he’s not retiring until every American agrees with him, do NOT doubt him, with shrieks of joy at the mere mention of his name (that’s Rush, for those in Rio Linda),the Mandarin of Talk Radio, with talent on loan from G-d, at the cutting-edge of societal evolution, with half his brain tied behind his back — just to make it fair, the all-knowing, all-caring, all-sensing, all-feeling, all-concerned Maha-Rushie! America’s anchorman, truth detector, and doctor of democracy. A Real Man, a living legend, a way of life. Commander in Chief of U.S. Operation Chaos. Chief Waga-Waga El Rushbo of the El Conservo Tribe. Chief of the Patriotism Police. Leader of the Conservative Movement. A Weapon of Mass Instruction. El Rushbo (a little Spanish lingo, there). He is the man who is running America (you know it and I know it). He knows the Democrats like every square inch of his glorious naked body. He is ready to do what he was born to do—that’s host. Get ready to what you were born to do—that’s listen (and post your comments on the Rush Limbaugh LIVE Radio Thread).

It’s not a matter of staying in a loveless marriage. Noot, or anyone else, doesn’t have to remain married for all eternity to someone he doesn’t care for; however, before starting a relationship with someone else, it would be a little more palatable if just once, Noot had bothered to get a divorce first. A lot of voters are riled up about gay marriage and DOMA. Those types of voters are hypocrites if they defend Noot’s behavior.

I think his personal behavior is despicable, but that alone wouldn’t/doesn’t disqualify him in my mind. His flirtations and down right open affairs with liberalism in the past decade are what makes me dislike Noot.

You seem to be giving women a pass on the infidelity thing. Does anyone know if Newt’s wives were faithful to him? Were they cold, nagging bitches that made his married life a living hell? That does happen, you know. I credit Newt for not discussing the terms of his marriage relationships. I’m betting if he did, the wives may not come off looking so good.

and you can get it from frogs too

since you can get it from frogs, that the way you justify your support?

if you can rationalize it that way - glad it works for you

for me, i might have to support noot - but i will do it without the rationalization and my eyes wide open

McCain and Noot both treated their first (and in Noot’s case second) wives in a horrid fashion. It is hypocritical of anyone to pretend otherwise.

I can’t answer for anyone else’s thoughts, but neither is a paragon of virtue.

Dear God....he just told that caller he’s NEVER seen Mitt look sweaty at a debate (funny, I’ve seen it more than once). And now he says he doesn’t think Romney supports abortion—it’s news to him. Rush is NOT that dense. He’s twisting himself into pretzels trying to stay neutral, and I’ve almost reached my limit.

My opinion of course, Rush has become lazy and farms out the research to hirelings. Romney is a liar without a teleprompter. Based upon what little I could stomach today Rush has 'keyword' searches on his name in the news and then performs his show around himself. Rush has joined the GOP-Proud establishment and calls it capital-ISM... he has been 'bain'-washed.

Bray,

May I compliment you on your choice of screen name? It is an excellent choice that matches your post. I wonder how many different versions of Rush’s show play each day; the differing takes on what he says dictates the number must be in the dozens.

Speak up and commit. Your influence may save the country.

Absolutely! Even if their views don't match ours, at least they should be willing to go on the record as to their opinion. Isn't that what they base their whole shows on.. their opinions?

I can’t believe there are still people who live in such a shell that they expect people to live in marriages that lack love. Life is short...

Either I'm hallucinating, or I took a wrong turn at Albuquerque.

This can't be Free Republic, can it?

Gay marriage has nothing to do with infidelity or divorce. Apples and oranges.

People grow. I changed my mind about things as I aged....didn't you? Experience has made me see things differently...and it should. NO ONE is perfect, no one is 100% conservative, and no one is going to fit a specific persons perfect mold. Newt is the best candidate in today's time in my opinion....

i don’t give anyone a pass

cheating is wrong - period

if you break your sacred vow to your spouse, you will break any vow - any promise you make to me

you are a demonstrated liar if you cheat

i judge those people openly

if you were dumb enough to marry someone that ‘nags’, you made your bed - live with it or get a divorce

Talked about himself and what everyone is saying about him all his friends, his emails, all the world is waiting in breathless anticipation to hear who he voted for and oh my gosh support. Got annoyed and watched “what not to wear” . I like Sarah Palin’s one line to brush the subject away..I don’t think endorsements matter very much and who gives a hill of beans about mine. End of subject and back to the subject of the GOP trying to destroy conservatives.

What is the basis of opposing gay marriage?

Noot’s ideological infidelities are exactly why I think he isn’t the right candidate (i.e. in your terminology, his “growth” and “seeing things differently”); but different people have different levels of tolerance for various things.
