I prefer Newt to Romney but Newt's attacks on capitalism and attacks on Bain moved many in the GOP base to Romney. Newt stepped in it and the anti-capitalist fringe that includes some Freepers encouraged him to double down. It was pure ignorance.

The only way Newt can get out of the hole is to apologetically advocate lower taxes for the wealthy.

Gingrich did not attack capitalism. Rush Limbaugh was, as usual, putting his mouth in motion before his mind was in gear.

Questioning someone’s business practices, especially when that person has made completely unfounded and misleading claims about the business, is perfectly legitimate and is not an attack on capitalism.

Well, unless you want to pretend to believe it is.

I guess I didn’t see Newt’s attacks as attacks on insider capitalism. Capitalism that says I and my buddies get special treatment because we have access to the inside, but you Mr. or Miss entrepreneur just starting out - No soup for you!

This is the same theme Palin articulated, and it works. His execution sucks, but there’s still time to tweak it to defeat the blind trust candidate Romney.

Romney should be running as a Democrat.

If Romney is what the GOP has come to represent, count me out! Romney is a sleaze merchant who couldn’t run on his liberal and failed record as MA governor so instead chose to drag the other GOP candidates down in the mud. I despise that man and will never vote for him. Romney, the self pro-claimed progressive who disavowed Reagan, has no business calling himself a conservative. As much as I hate Obama and the dirtbag Democrat machine, I am going to enjoy watching them smear Romney into oblivion. If we must have a big government progressive statist as president, by all means let him have a D after his name! I, will spend my time working for and donating money to get conservatives elected to Congress and at the local, county, and state level.

There are so many MR commercials here in South Florida and I dont really see any NG commercials.

Reminds me of mr obama vs McCain, McCain ran hardly any, too busy apologizing for Mr obamas middle name or racist preacher, wife, etc

Newt’s already for 0% corporate income tax and 15% flat income tax.

He lost Iowa and New Hampshire and is losing Florida because he did not focus on attacks on Romney’s Bain Capital record. He won South Carolina precisely because he focused on Romney’s Bain Capital record there. Romney’s record at Bain Capital is one of a coldhearted, unethical “buyout baron” and corporate raider who helped bankrupt companies and kill American jobs. It makes him unelectable either in a Republican primary or in the general election. When it’s made the focus of a campaign, he loses. There is no other way to defeat him unless the electorate is heavily stacked with hardcore ideological conservatives. If Romney is allowed to use his business record as a positive, he wins. If his opponents highlight his unseemly business practices, that adds a negative to his resume at the same time it takes away a positive, and he loses.

I completely doubt your sincerity.

Anyone, who knows the records of both Newt and Myth, and knows how much Myth lies and changes his positions regularly, and also knows the progressive record of Mitt as Governor and then zero in on one issue with Newt is lying.

It wasn't anti-Capitalism, it was anti-crony Captialism.

There is a huge difference, something the TARP and bailout guys can't seem to grasp.
