Yesterday, the Senate Education & Health Committee passed Senate Bill 484, which would force women to have an ultrasound 24 hours prior to having an abortion for politicalnot medicalreasons. Your Senator is expected to vote on this bill early next week. Tell Your Senator: VOTE NO ON SENATE BILL 484!
This bill is an intrusion into private, personal medical decisions that women should make in consultation with their physician. It and others like it are being pushed this year by opponents of womens health in states all across the country. Mandatory ultrasounds and waiting periods are simply delay tactics that impose additional costs and prolong a womans access to medical care.
Tell your Senator that women should NOT be forced to make two trips to the abortion provider or be forced to undergo a procedure against her will!
Thank you for your support of reproductive rights and health in the Commonwealth,

“This bill is an intrusion into private, personal medical decisions”
How private is it if the government is spending our tax money at Planned Barrenhood?
I am calling.....thanks for the reminder!
Wow. The inhumanity of requiring 2 trips to end a life. Except for minor illnesses, most complaints require multiple visits. They would be better off saying, "The fact that these women were too freaking lazy to take precautions and had willful unprotected sex, probably on more than one occassion, proves the cruelty of forcing them to be inconvenienced with two whole visits to kill the babies they conceived".
Many of them probably jumped through more hoops to have the sex than they need to jump through to abort the baby.
Well, at least whoever wrote this article acknowledges that abortions are not performed for medical reasons. And the reasons they *are* performed might as well be called "political". That word describes the rationale for abortion as well as any other word.
It seems that Planned Parenthood is the ONLY medical provider in the country that isn't truly interested in how the woman will be affected by the procedure she will undergo. They're much more concerned about the politics of the procedure.
