Clinton: Done with the ‘high wire’ of politics. Really.
WaPo ^ | 27 Jan 2012 | Karen DeYoung

Like President Obama, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton says she hasn’t been watching the Republican primary debates. But at least Clinton has an excuse for tuning out — she says she’s quitting government after the election no matter who wins.

....

“I will certainly stay on until the president nominates someone and that transition can occur,” said Clinton, who has insisted repeatedly that she will be a one-term secretary. “But I think, after 20 years ...of being on the high wire of American politics, and all of the challenges that come with that, it would probably be a good idea to just find out how tired I am.”

I don’t know how tired she is, but I’m certainly tired of her!

I am not American, and observe US politics from Ireland. But can anyone tell me of any—and I mean any—record of substantive accomplishment that can be ascribed to Hillary Clinton? Can anyone even provide a single item that she can claim credit for? Wouls she ever have been heard off if she had not been married to Bill Clinton?

Yet if I turn my attention to, say someone like Gov Sarah Palin and take a single short period like between Jan 2007 and April 2008, I observe that she accomplished more then than Hillary Clinton in her entire career—or for that matter—Barrack Obama in his entire career. Its an unjust world. Democratic Party thy name is Mediocrity!! GOP, thy name is stupidity!!

She’s getting ready to run for President or Vice President. She and Obama know his goose is cooked.

Someone please put this woman in jail where she belongs.

Yeah, Herself, the Cold and Joyless, is getting past the expiration date for elective politics. Herself SHOULD have been running against The Won this year, and might have stood at least half a chance of going for the whole enchilada. But waiting until 2016 is kind of veering off into the weeds.

Herself perhaps ought to have held out for a Supreme Court seat. If Elena Kagan could get on, there would have been almost zero resistance to Herself. And once on the Supreme Court, the only exit from that is self-removal, either by death or disability (unless one gets just plain bored).

You may be Irish, but your perception of American politics is spot on!

Wow! A conservative from Ireland! So nice to meet you!

You are totally on target about Hillary. She’s a complete fraud. She rode her vile, slit-eyed husband’s ticket to glory. She was a mediocre lawyer, a corrupt U.S. Senator (for about 5 minutes) and a complete non-entity as a Secretary of State.

After being the high wire act in the Obama administration circus, I feel that Hillary genuinely wants to opt out of elective politics.

She's no spring chicken any more....and it's a certainty that all the globe-hopping she does is draining. She may even have some minor health issues, also, that we don't know about.

I look for her to take a figurehead job somewhere that isn't too demanding....for instance, the presidency of a college (actually, a PR and fundraising job).

Her ego will demand she remains in the public eye....but in my humble opinion, grueling campaigning for some national office is not in her sights.

There are many well-endowed liberal organizations that would hire her as a rainmaker in a heartbeat.

She Who Must Not Be Named is the most ruthless woman ever to stalk the halls of power. There is no way that She would ever relinquish any power at any time.

This is nothing but a smoke screen by WaPo-Obama to protect the Kenyan Muslim, and more of a smoke screen by The Beast to mask Her very real lust for more power.

I’ll believe it when I see it. Still think she’s going to run in 2012. She’s just learned to be less open about her ambition. My hunch is that she will be begged by her fellow Democrats to reconsider (on cue) and she will “reluctantly” accept for “the good of the country”. [/s]

Well, Hillary was beaten by The Obamas, led by the domineering Michelle, so I guess you could argue that "The First Lady" now holds that infamous title.

Yes, it's a set-up for a "Draft Hillary" movement in which she will play the reluctant candidate. She always wanted to run against Barry in 2012 but she didn't want to bother with an exhausting primary schedule . . . and spending all that money.

Like a female Cincinnatus, she'll abandon her plow for the good of her coun-, ah party.

Such a sacrifice, teetering on that high wire, how brave, admirable and unassuming of her.
