Hosted by Wolf Blitzer at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville. Candidates: Newt Gingrich, Mitt Romney, Rick Santorum and Ron Paul.
Word is the audience will be "allowed" to participate.
I tried to get into this debate as it is near me.
I was told off the GOP lady that 3,000 seats but only 800 tickets went out.
Now it seems the establishment filled those seats with stooges from the establishment to give the appearance that Romney is more liked that he is
I also thought Newt got hurt on the Moon Base proposal. Both Santorum, Paul and Romney got in good licks on him for that.
I would not vote for Paul. But he’d be fun to have at the family get togethers. And I do love his son Rand, and think he has a shot of rising higher in politics in years to come. That is one reason I don’t think Ron Paul will go 3rd party. Might hurt Rand’s chances down the road. Rand has a lot of his dad in him, but without the wacky foreign policy. I hope to see Rand running for president some day.
Amazing how the Hamas Rep made it in to ax a question??
Astute and honest analysis, my faith in FR is somewhat restored.
Many years ago, I lived in some Apts and one of the neighbors was a Mormon.
He left his clothes in the laundry room and someone stole his “magic underwear”
He went WILD! he was pounding on everyone’s door asking about the underwear in a state of panic.
The boy wasn’t right.
As a general rule, I don’t watch a lot of television. So often times when she’s watching something else, I’m FReeping. I have headphones on to block out television.
But I will pass on your well wishes. :-)
Wolfe worked hard to stifle Gingrich anytime he seemed to be gaining momentum. It was a joke.
He specifically said....His Grandchildren...and named them....which hits at a certain group....
How is comparing your position with the other candidates a negative thing? It’s called RUNNING FOR OFFICE.
That’s what happens when you let the lib media run the debates. How about have Sarah ask the candidates questions about energy, John Bolton on foreign policy, Scott Walker on turning the economy around, Jan Brewer on immigration & border control, etc. .... get some non-media Conservatives out there to ask the questions
I saw it for 7.99 on ebay
Yes. It does do that.
He explained that, Specter was head of the council that suggested and approved Judges. If he lost their might be a liberal put in his place, and Santorum wanted to make sure conservative judges were nominated. Santorum looks at the BIG picture and what is best for the country. You don’t understand politics, you sometimes have to choose what will have the best long term effect. Like voting for Romney over McCain because Romney might be better. But four years latter you vote against Romney and for someone more conservative.
yea she wants to become a state with English which is hard to understand and then fly a Puerto Rican flag in front of us and then she spoke in Spanish too.
Like she or the Palestinian guy will ever vote for us and to think my wife and I were not able to get tickets because of the GOP stooges who took them
Oh yeah, the audience was totally a Romney audience. Newt, didn’t hit a HR tonight, but even if he would have, you wouldn’t have heard it, in the audience.
Santorum is not dropping out, Gingrich needs something big in the next couple of days...
Sarah Palin, can you hear us now?
We can talk about long Primary, but if Romney wins Florida, it’s all but over except counting up the Delegates. Conservatism needed another big win tonight and we didn’t get it.
I think the saturation of hit pieces on Newt got to him, he seemed deflated to me.
Sarah if you want a conservative President, I suggest you follow your husband and
ENDORSE NEWT GINGRICH ASAP.....FRIDAY !!!
My guess is the gop establishment was educated by liberal elitist professors. They are not as conservative as the old dixiecrats. To be honest..we have not had a true conservative since Reagan.
Yes, Florida’s retirees. Newt is a good politician.
Unfortunately (as someone supporting Gingrich) you are spot on in your analysis.
Newt did not have a remarkable night, Santorum was the best he ever been and that only hurts Newt.
Romney scored style points early in the debate on Newt during the immigration questions when the most viewers would be watching.
Personally I found a new level of disgust with Romney as the night went on and was very disappointed in a horribly moderated debate. Very frustrated that Newt was never able to get on issues for any length of time and there was no focus on the failures of Zero.
Something for anyone watching this tonight. Who actually looked president with their answers. The one who was constantly accusing the other of being a crooked politician, or the one that had to be forced to say a bad a thing about the other.
One man was presidential on the stage and his name is
Newt Gingrich. Santorum looked petty and vindictive and Romney looks like a used car salesman that will lie through his teeth to sell the car.
OK, Full disclaimer. Did I want him to win because I happen to support him? YES.
Did I objectively, honestly think he won on the merit of delivery, content, sincerity, fire-in-the-belly, consistency, impact and my general knowledge of debate, as if I were scoring those in university? YES.
Oh and another one, as a side issue.
Am I a proud, contributing FReeper for the last 12 years. YES on that too. ;-)
