Thanks to Dan Riehl for this.
Theres a short excerpt of a 1988 C-SPAN video purportedly showing Newt Gingrich bashing Reagan when talking about how Bush, Sr. should run. As I suspected, its edited to give a false impression. What you dont see is immediately after when Gingrich praises Reaganism and the Reagan platform. If you cant watch it all, it begins at about 2:30 in to confirm its the same segment. Its the minute or two afterward you also need to hear to understand that Newt wasnt bashing Reagan at all.
See Video here...go viral.

Say this tonight, Newt...
"I'm going to level with you. The elites and the privileged class in Washington D.C. and on Wall Street have been RIPPING THE AMERICAN PEOPLE OFF for a generation and pulling the wool over our eyes. Because they know for a fact that I am the one who's going to put a stop to it once and for all, they and their friends in the media are trying to destroy me with the biggest coordinated campaign of lies and smears I've ever seen in politics. This is no longer just a campaign, this is a revolution to TAKE AMERICA BACK from the elites and return it to the American people."

“Rush is friends with the ‘Establishment’, and he likes partying with them as much as anybody.”
Rush’s circle of friends is made up of people I would seldom refer to as “establishment.” I’m not defending him. He’s made me plenty mad with negative comments about Governor Perry.
Rush’s friends are the great thinkers and writers and cigar smokers of our time. He doesn’t mind lashing out at anyone as he proved today with Bill Gates. He seems to enjoy the company of golfers and other sportsmen far more than he does politicians. He lives the good life and has earned it. He rubs elbows with the wealth that politicians only dream about. He can’t be faulted for his choice in company. I would love to be a fly on the wall. I learned early on that if he says something to offend you, there is only one way to handle it. Don’t listen for a while. He caused so much grief for me the way he handled Governor Perry’s candidacy that I almost hated him. It wasn’t even what he said. It was that he wouldn’t even mention Perry’s name.
I don’t think anyone will go untouched by the talk show icons.

I salute you, that was well put and hopefully Newt takes heed.
I tried to get there tonight but 3000 seats but only 800 tickets went out.
Hopefully the establishment has no put their stooges in the crowd to cheer for their RINO
Romney is no different to obama, heck he even stated he will not overturn obamacare now.

Wow that's good! I wish I knew Newt's personal email address. I guess we could make a list and try to guess:

Nonsense. All ANYONE on the right wants is to beat Obama. And this RINO thing is really getting stupid. The people "backing Romney" (1) don't believe he's anything but a true conservative and (2) believe Newt has been so damaged by the media hate-bomb against him, he can't possibly win. There are also some disgruntled Republicans who will never forgive him for campaigning against them.
Being wrong doesn't make them evil, leftist or part of a grand conspiracy. I love Jonah Goldberg, but he's just wrong. It happens. I still love him.

do you support Romney?
As for him being a true conservative, really er since when is the queer agenda conservative?
Since when is planned parenthood?
Since when is Govt health care?
He has now stated he will not overturn obamacare , that is not conservative?
He ran to the left of Ted Kennedy in MA, hardly a conservative thing to do?
He has stated he supports a VAT now, hardly a conservative?
So Deb the list is long, Romney is the establishment candidate that is is obvious if you follow politics so who do you support ROMNEY IS IT???????

Bottom line: I don't care what people say Newt said/says or how many audios/videos they come up with to disparage this man any more than I care what the authors of the federalist papers thought or said when they were contemplating the penning of the US Constitution. What ended up on record as the final document is what it is and their musing, while interesting, have nothing to do with what they ultimately gave the citizens of the United States. Likewise the mud being slung at Newt in no way detracts from the FACT that Newt's recorded 'legislative' "record" has been nothing but "CONSERVATIVE." Forget the words that have allegedly come out of his mouth. Look at what he's done. Americans were bamboozled by a slick talking, empty headed Kenyan with NO verifiable record of his actions and that idiot has now plunged not only the US but the world into the worst economic period in recorded modern history.
Santorum is a good Christian man but very legalistic. Paul is... Well... Paul. Gingrich has a long record of forwarding the Conservative agenda (Oh... I know, Delay and other spitful, petty little men want to try and take all the credit for what Newt managed to spearhead while he was Speaker and try as they might to distance Newt from his/their work Newt always turned up on the correct side when the votes were counted.)
My opinion.... Is there a better person than Newt Gingrich to represent the conservative/Tea Party movement??? Probably but that person isn't running and I don't know who it might be. I do know that Gingrich, in my opinion, is better than the other four (obama, romney, Santorum, Paul) to occupy the White House.
Note... Should we beat Obama it won't matter who we send to the White House if we can't end Harry Reid's control of the Senate and replace, if not all, most of the RINOs in both chambers.
To: ari-freedom
That would be nice. I’d been hoping for a Santorum boomlet after Iowa, but it didn’t happen. Maybe the winner will make him VP and we’ll get him in 8 years.

His excuse making for why the 'rich' purchase and promote liberalism, while slamming US pheasants reminded me of him needing a few lean years of capital. In a lot of ways Rush is really no different than Newt, except Newt has gotten his hands in the political process. Rush gives away an apple once in a while, but I have no doubt Rush does whatever it takes to look out for his bottom line. As opposed to what some of the founding fathers were willing to risk to be on the 'right' side of history.
This nation is in a world of hurt, and I did not find Rush the least bit entertaining today. Not one of the spit ball throwers he named today have done squat to be so openly verbal about this present administration. That in and of itself tells me what the priorities are.

The people "backing Romney" (1) don't believe he's anything but a true conservative That is TONS of bull excrement. They know EXACTLY what he is. A liberal. An establishment liberal Rino. The elites have not ONCE run a true conservatice Republican. BOTH parties have slid to the left and are pushing that direction.
Get an education.

So, the distinction without a difference party is running the distinction without a difference candidate to beat the other distinctions without a difference on the other side because it is so important that the right distinction without a difference is beaten. Or wins. Hard to keep track.
Whoopee.
They are all are anti-life, anti-liberty and anti-virtue.
The people backing Romney are: 1) knowingly part of the problem 2) whores 3) dumber than a barrel of dead Massachusetts fetuses* or 4) any combination of these.

What is this, the 3rd grade? Are you tattling on me to Dad because I don't agree that people who have lived their entire lives in the media as conservatives are part of some leftist conspiracy? Really?
