Rasmussen Reports ^ | 1-23-12 | Scott Rasmussen

Posted on 01/23/2012 6:38:46 AM PST by Yankee

Less than two weeks ago, Mitt Romney had a 22-point lead in Florida, but that’s ancient history in the race for the Republican presidential nomination. Following his big win in South Carolina on Saturday, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich now is on top in Florida by nine.

Mitt Romney supports Mitt Romney and nobody else. He has no political party because he has no core beliefs.

If Romney destroys himself, it will be because he’s exposed himself for the fraud he is, so I doubt anyone would take attack ads featuring his comments seriously. His political career will be over if he doesn’t win the nomination in 2012.

The real sticker is getting him to that point. We’ve put a dent in his campaign, but Romney still has a mountain of cash and the full faith & confidence of the GOP establishment. I’m waiting until tonight’s debate to make an assessment of his relative strength in Florida.

Early voting started Saturday, January 21st. Absentee ballots have been going out for awhile. Absentees are not counted on Election Night.....they are counted the days following the Primary vote. Be aware of that on the night of the 31st.

GOG NEWT GO!!!

He’s going after Newt’s character and wants to see Newt’s contract with Fannie/Freddie. Lame.

Get a life, Romney. His tax returns will be the talk of the week when they’re relesed on Tuesday.

it's ALWAYS been about the money.

We have established what she is. We are now merely haggling over the price.

You mean like he “left” Bain in 1999 but still is making 15 + million a year from the company. He should have explained what he meant by left weeks ago, cause he's going to stammer and slur when he's asked about it now.

How difficult to say I left as CEO, but like all good politicians he simply implied he had left completely, had no ties etc etc.

It will become an issue if not now later.

Willard is lame. He has no core and his attacks sound like desperation, and he’s desperate.

He’s just learning that investing in himself is a very bad investment! “It’s going South” -— and that’s killing him.

GO NEWT! GO FLORIDA!!

Yeah, some businessman.

I could lose as many elections as Romney and only spend a tiny fraction of the money that he’s pissed away.

When I go out beyond FR and read other comment boards, it’s all about what “low quality” candidates we have. How neither would beat Obama in a general election — and thus, the Democrats get to sit back and watch as our candidates destroy each other.

Newt needs to REALLY do is again, ask the media WHY we still know so little about Obama. Why do we always hear that Obama is a better candidate than who we have at the moment?

He needs to just HAMMER on this ONE point alone!

The American public needs to be convinced that OBAMA is the weakest candidate anyone could ask for!

Since Newt must be stopped, maybe somebody can convince Romney to drop out and throw his support to Santorum for the good of the party. /sarcasm

To add, I think Newt, in constantly asking Romney to release records, to contantly be in some sort of mode of releasing his own records ...is building up to a PATTERN.

A pattern of asking for records ...let’s ask OBAMA for HIS records ...school records, birth records ...anything.

Newt could, in constantly asking for the proof ... paint Obama as completely risky, unknown — and compell the American people to really demand that Obama come forth with information — and that if he doesn’t — he’s unreliable.

At least I hope. Because he should.

Just to put the Early Voting impact in perspective — 400,000 early ballots were requested, approx 190,000 have been recieved. Total turn out for the Primary is expected to be 1.9 to 2.1 million.

So, if we say 2.0 million - then 20% requested early ballots and 10% have voted.

It’ll be the Cayman account(s) that’ll kill him and the $ Millions to his church, which won’t play all that well to folks who are already sour on his religion. Heck, it might be the amount of money he’s worth or whatever. He’s sunk.

It’s said that, “Timing is everything,” and this year, is not the year to be super rich.

Plus he has been campaigning for 6 years...so there’s not much he can do to change the 6 year impression he’s been building.

Right and that’s Newt Gingrich’s plan. He’s running against the mysterious, Saul Alinsky, incompetent radical.

You’ve heard him mention that obama wasn’t just a follower of Alinsky, but that he taught Alinsky? Newt plans to go into detail about the media covering for obama.

Who is this guy in the White House? Newt Gingrich will pull back the curtain on obama.

Pray for Newt. Pray for his safety. He needs Secret Service protection, yesterday.

I’m starting to think there’s something kinky about that supposed conservative chic. First she endorsed Romney, then she became a spokesman for a homo group. Maybe she was a RINO plant all along!

The reason for the dramatic change is quite simple. The nation is desperately seeking a candidate that can beat Obama. After seeing the debates they have decided the Gingrich can beat Obama and Romney can not.

In the five minutes I could tolerate Beck this morning, he sounded like he had completely lost his mind.

I've always thought he was a bit kooky, but it seriously sounded like he had driven off the edge of sanity.
