Ann Coulter Throws a Temper Tantrum (BARF ALERT)
Fox News | 01/22/2012 | Me

Posted on 01/22/2012 6:45:03 AM PST by stratboy

Ann Coulter was just on Fox and Friends. She was crying over the fact that Romney got decimated in South Carolina. She offered a few talking points from the Romney camp including:

1. Newt is the lease conservative of all Candidates running. 2. Newt is unelectable because of his failed marriages. 3. The Freddy Mac non-issue. 4. John K asked a legitimate question and he is a completely fair and honorable reporter. 5. South Carolina is going back to it democratic roots and backing someone who calls Obama a socialist.

She laid out the establishment talking point that everyone who voted for McCain, will vote for Romney, that we need to get the independents.

Why would I want someone zotted?

Again, one more time ~ we are working within the Republican party. It's a coalition. There are people in it I don't like, and others you don't like.

There have been remarkably few real RINOs over the last 20 years ever since we began running LIFELONG Republicans for office in the South ~ we just don't need Conversos to run for us.

The collapse of the Republican party in New England has been obvious for quite some time. We'd need to import Republicans into that region to get control. Romney, in fact, was such an import, and was, in fact, a lifelong Republican, as was his daddy, but he wasn't a UTAH MORMON ~ which makes all the difference. He's never going to be what folks expect.

As industry has relocated FROM New England, their management class has gone with it leaving behind nothing but insurance companies, lawyers, doctors, beer joints and public schools (which are in turmoil).

Scott Brown is a lawyer. One daughter is a doctor.

They are your typical upper middle class New England family. Far removed from farming, factories, extractive industries or even commercial fishing, it's really difficult to get them to go along with real Republican program.

We have 26 million mostly young unemployed people.

Obama has done nothing about that number.

I think he doesn't care. My sons agree. So do their friends, and their friends.

They all live in the shadow of the White House. Can you imagine what those further away from here think of Obama?

BTW, those young adults playing interactive video games have voice channels available to them. They've been talking about jobs ~ why there aren't any ~ why Obama won't allow for job growth ~ why the Democrats need overthrown and disposed of like trash.

Newt is a creative thinker. He comes up with many great conservative solutions. But his intellect is volatile.

It's something new every day, and often the new idea seems more colored by political opportunity than by practicality. How else to explain his savaging of the Ryan plan? Or his attack on corporate layoffs if a private investment company (with the name "Bain") happens to be involved? His hanging out on the third ring of economic hell, Fannie Mae? His support of, God forbid, "climate change" regulation?

Even if Newt had a good humored, Reaganesque personality, I'd be as worried about him betraying conservatives once in office as I am about Romney. But he doesn't have that personality. He's irascible, pompous, and petty. Often. I don't think he can win with that.

It’s not a stretch at all. That’s the facts from the ground level ~ inside the Constitution.

That's hopeful input from your sons and their friends. It makes sense to me, too, that they would be disillusioned.

I agree 100% that Obama doesn't care. The compassion crowd is a very cynical hard-hearted group.

Maybe they will vote for "change" this time. I have a to say, though, I just have a hard time seeing them turning out for newt. I hope I'm wrong if he is the nominee.

The Ryan thing sounded more like an "uninformed opinion" ~ it has to do with the way he analyzes stuff ~ typical of any professional politician he skims the top and matches that with OTHER THINGS he already has structured in his memory.

I'd guess Newt, like everybody else his age (or within 10 years of it) has been brought up on the idea of NOT messing with Medicare ~ like it's some sort of third-rail.

All that tells you is how out of touch with realpolitik you can get when you are busy making millions of dollars!

Catching Newt and others by surprise, we have moved on from the days of preserving Medicare at all costs ~ Obama actually cut it. I'd bet Newt is up to speed on that issue now.

You do realize that Newt believes GOD called him to run for President. This is hard work for a man his age ~ ask Herman Cain ~ God probably called him as well.

Remember, the Lord finds His prophets where He finds them ~ and He's not terribly concerned with the petty stuff.

The zotting remark was my own obviously inadequate attempt at sarcasm. I know the Republican party is a coalition, I want it to be led by “Conservative” republicans instead of Conservatives being dictated to by what I’m choosng to refer to at this time as RINOs. My point originally was and still is that “Rinos”, and I’m using that name purposly, Republicans In Name Only, because they obviously dumped Newt, who had worked to control spending, from the Speakers Post, and went to spending money like democrats. You don’t have to agree with me and I think we’ve both had enough to say about this.

We used to call them "the moderates". If you've followed enough of this particular topic you'd found numerous Freepers who recall all of this and have identified the malefactors as "moderates". Santorum says they were "Conservative", and maybe they were by his standard at that time of history, but not now.

We've purged most of them.

What you have now are hard core Conservatives in Virginia backing Mitt for no more reason than that's the only way any of them could get a call for the Vice Presidency.

Newt is a Virginia resident these days!

The Constitution specifies that the President and VP have to come from different states!

No way you can call McDonnell or the others "RINO" but you can call them anti-democratic ~ maybe even UNAMERICAN!

When you sell out the voters of your state for your own personal gain you are, of course, a slimeball!!!!

McDonnell and his running dog lackeys are slimeballs ~ Conservative slimeballs but slimeballs none the less.

We will need to have them purged as well!

I’m a Phil Gramm Republican. I’ve been a Freeper since 2000. I’m not the establishment.

Although I have reservations about Romney, I think Gingrich isn’t the right candidate.

He disappoints me on so many levels. The criticisms of him are valid.

I’m not so worked up about the yellowstream media, that in an effort to put an overdue thumb in their eye, I support a guy who’s randomness is a showstopper for most voters. He’s NOT a Reaganesque happy warrior. He can’t make the jump. If you remove “fundamentally”, “systemic”, “profound” and “transformational”, he loses his debate edge.

And the #1 reason I can’t handle him is his attacks on capitalism. I though we wiped our feet of Huey Long style economics in the Republican party when that clown Buchannen left!

I need to see Obama defeated. Mitt is better than GW or W on most issues. Is he Reagan? No. Is he better than Newt? Absolutely.

I agree with point #2. His failed marriages are going to be a problem. I don’t see moderate women jumping on the the bandwagon for a man that has had 2 affairs (and they sure aren’t going to like “the other woman”, Calisa). You can bet the media will be playing up what a wonderful family man Obama is. If Newt were running against Bill Clinton it probably would not have mattered (although it may have been like that sexual harrassment skit on SNL with Tom Brady where the women didn’t considerate it sexual harrassment when Tom did it but did when it was by a less attractive man).

I’m going to disagree here... Gingrich won the female vote in the South Carolina primary by a pretty significant margin. Unfortunately, Bill Clinton drastically lowered the bar as far as presidents and their character issues go. Let’s not forget that Clinton’s approval numbers were never HIGHER than they were during the entire Monica Lewinsky scandal.

If this were an ordinary election, I would be less inclined to support Gingrich due to his checkered past. But there is nothing ordinary about this year’s election. It may well be our last stand to defend and save what’s left of this great nation, its economy, and our individual freedoms and therefore I want a candidate who is not going to be afraid to campaign against Obama with brutal honesty and gusto. That said, I’m liking Gingrich more and more as our potential nominee everyday.

I think what we are looking at is another Sharon Angle situation with Newt and you know how that turned out.

I don’t think so. Gingrich at least had a successful conservative track record during his speaker as Speaker of the House. He can proudly point to his record of passing welfare reform, balanced budgets, and destroying any chance of Hilary Clinton’s universal health care plan becoming law. Sharron Angle by comparison was a relatively unknown candidate.

Saw Ann, think she is dead wrong.

Saw Dick Morris, he didn’t think that the first question (which resulted in a Republican standing up to the media slime machine) had anything to do with the surge, but that other debate answers did.

I think he is wrong too. Newt didn’t sit back and take it, he took it to the lib. And then he took it to them again. I was jumping up and down.

I enjoy listening to Dick Morris’ thoughtful commentary and analyses, but let’s face it... He turns out to be wrong more often than he’s right.

First of all, at least get your terms right, it is tattle tale, not "tail"
I know that! I was making a statement by using "tail."

Sure you were.

and it isn't "tattling" when an obvious troll is seen and brought to the attention of the mods, there are hundreds of thousands of FReepers, and the number of mods available at any given time are by my estimate, less than a dozen. Do the math.
Thank you for the lecture! Did anybody ask for your assistance?...or did you just assume they needed it?

You obviously needed it. You seemed to think the dead troll in question should have just been left alone to peddle their spew another day.

It's no surprise that you would defend a "tattle-tail"!

No surprise that you have sought to justify your unwise decision in defending a dead troll.

Again, do everybody a favor and mind your own business. Few people like tattle-tails and busy-bodies!

Troll defenders like you ARE my business, and I don't care if you like me or not.

Deal with it.
