NEWT/MARCO 2012 & 2016

Exactly what I was thinking. What we need are leaders who can clearly articulate conservative values without trembling with fear at the thought of offending the left.

With the Newt/Marco combo, we get a two-fer.

I’ve come to the exact same conclusion. Started looking closer at Newt after they drove out Cain. I can honestly say that I like the man. I like his grit, I like his fire, I like his spirit and I like his vision. He sees great things for America. A rebirth of freedom!

“When the GOP Establishment Elites helped defeat Christine O’Donnell, Sharon Angle and Joe Miller in 2010, candidates who won their nominations fair and square, my eyes were opened to how destructive the GOP had become. Those “ establishment elites” have got to go!

REBELLION IS BREWING INDEED!”

GOP E have been shafting the conservatives for years all the way back before the 1964 elections, which happened while I was in high school. If Newt wins the primaries, better be ready for dirty tricks at the convention.

Newt thinks he is the smartest guy in the room so he can't be rolled. That attitude has gotten him in trouble in the past. Perhaps he has learned humility and my doubts are groundless.

Wake up and smell your country burning. This is no time for a leader with humility. This country needs nothing less than a fire breathing, piss 'n vinegar, cigar chomping, kick-ass-and-take-names, unapologetic patriot for president.

We will not defeat the left, or stop them from dragging our country over the cliff, without such a tiger at the helm. Newt Gingrich is that tiger.

I suppose that since I cannot vote for Newt in good conscience and every time I try to explain why, I meet emotion instead of any reasoning, all that is left is for me to find out how to end my monthly support as I am not welcome here. After Cain, Santorum or perhaps Perry were my only choices.

I supported Santorum till he started bad mouthing Newt during and after the last debate :-(

Now I haven't much use for him...he jumped the shark. I won't be surprised if he withdraws from the race and throws his support to Romney.

And that SOPA nonsense he was spouting...whooowee, something has started to smell.

I have been pretty hard on the Santy supporters around here the last day or so...just can't hold it in.

I was a fan of Newt for years...then came the Pelosi/Couch thing and it rang my bell...hard, since I come from a landuse/OHV background. I was extremely miffed. So much so that I had no intention in supporting him if it came down to it.

Like many here, now that things are getting to brass tacks, I was forced to rethink my position. When I look at his actual record of accomplishment and the fact he had a 90+ rating on conservative issues while in office, I cannot throw out the baby with the bath water.

Further, the more time we spend arguing the details is less time spent working for solutions. Am I thrilled with Newt? Nope. Was and still am a Palin guy at heart. But I respect the good he HAS done and that good is considerable. That’s enough to get my support and my vote.

Am I holding my nose again? I once thought I was. But when I add the numbers up, I’m not really. I’m still pissed he botched my pet issue, but so be it.

I’m all in with Newt and straight Republican down the ticket. Give him the White House and a veto proof congress and let’s help him clean house!!

Newt’s rebirth agenda: Repeal ObamaCare, Dodd-Frank, and Sarbanes-Oxley! Fire the czars! Fire Bernanke! Neuter the Fed and the EPA! Shutter Health, Education, Housing, Labor, Energy, etc. (can’t remember them all). Return the 185 some odd socialized federal welfare programs to the states and the people where they can either control them locally or shut them down. Privatize social security and medicare and or return them to the states and the people. Go to a personal flat tax of 15% after deductions. Reduce the corporate tax rate to 12.5%. Eliminate the capital gains tax. Eventually eliminate the payroll tax after social security is privatized and phased out.

REIN IN THE LIBERAL ACTIVIST JUDICIARY!!

Restore the constitutional balance of powers. Restore states rights. Restore individual rights!!

STOP THE WHOLESALE SLAUGHTER OF THE INNOCENT UNBORN!!

Cut the taxes, cut the government, cut the spending, cut the budget, cut the deficit, cut the borrowing, balance the books, cut unemployment, set our people free to produce, prosper and enjoy the fruits of their labor, ie, enjoy our God given unalienable rights to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness!!

Go, NEWT!!

Have you ever bothered to watch this video?

Newt Rips Gore's 'Facts' To Pieces

That's not some 60 second ad that said nothing that's testimony to a House committee and part of the permanent House record.

Same here. Like a lot of other conservatives, I nearly laughed when Newt first entered the race. I didn't give him a snowball's chance of getting anywhere near the front of the pack, based on all of my recent grievances with the man.

And then a funny thing happened......I started to hear him speak. As the months rolled on, and he carefully laid out his vision for America's near-term future, I found that he was speaking my mind. Not only that, he was doing it with such steely-eyed precision and force of will, I couldn't help but be impressed.

I think it was at that point, that I began carefully reviewing his record in Congress (your many posts about that helped!), the life he's lived (warts and all), his career alliances, his depth of knowledge of our history and unique form of government, etc.

When I weighed it all, and looked at the man in the present day, juxtaposed against the backdrop of the horror we're living through, it all fell together for me. It helps a lot that some of conservatism's leading lights also like what they see in Newt.

He may be flawed in certain ways, but name me one giant in our history who wasn't. I want a bulldog to rip the left-wing fascists to shreds, and help me get my country back. I think that Newt's that bulldog.

Yes this is exactly the time when you need a leader with humility.

Humility is not being a doormat, it is having a honest knowledge of your talents and strengths and not assuming that you will win just because you are so much smarter then anyone else. People who think that that tend to trip over their own egos and get burned by their own fire.

Like I said Newt got rolled more then once because he overestimated how bright he is. I suggest you read "The University of Hard Knocks" for a complete account of what can happen to those who think they are "Naturally Bright" but to summarize they get conned because they think they can't be conned.

Anyone can be conned. The thing is do you acknowledge that it is possible and keep your eyes open or assume that you can't and walk into a trap?

The sitting with Pelosi on the couch moment was one place where Newt got conned. If he learned from it well and good. If he didn't then that is a problem.

And fire breathing, piss 'n vinegar types don't impress me, they rarely live up to their own billing. I take a Calvin Coolidge over a Warren G. Harding.

Yup, I had posted an image of Nixon pointing at Santy and saying he had less charisma than even he had... guess a lot of Santy supporters complained since the admin guy deleted the image... oh well, it was a funny image :-)
