Humility is not being a doormat, it is having a honest knowledge of your talents and strengths and not assuming that you will win just because you are so much smarter then anyone else. People who think that that tend to trip over their own egos and get burned by their own fire.
Like I said Newt got rolled more then once because he overestimated how bright he is. I suggest you read "The University of Hard Knocks" for a complete account of what can happen to those who think they are "Naturally Bright" but to summarize they get conned because they think they can't be conned.
Anyone can be conned. The thing is do you acknowledge that it is possible and keep your eyes open or assume that you can't and walk into a trap?
The sitting with Pelosi on the couch moment was one place where Newt got conned. If he learned from it well and good. If he didn't then that is a problem.
And fire breathing, piss 'n vinegar types don't impress me, they rarely live up to their own billing. I take a Calvin Coolidge over a Warren G. Harding.
You've obviously never lived through 'interesting times'. I can assure you, that no matter how secure your personal situation is right now, it won't feel anything like that, if we get another four years of the Obama nightmare.
This country will become so unrecognizable, that you'll be begging for one of those fire breathing, cigar chomping, piss 'n vinegar, bulldog types to lead us back to sanity.
This isn't politics as usual. We're in a war for our very survival as a nation. In times like these, a bare knuckled fighter who takes no prisoners, is precisely what you need at the top. Humility ranks mighty low on the list of attributes of the type of person who can pull our bacon out of the fire right now.
You mean 'most conservative' Santorum? LOL! Mitt would be his rival is he was. That's all he has - the label he gave himself and that's gone! He's nikked.
