One of the criticisms I make is to what I refer to as more of a Libertarianish right. They have this idea that people should be left alone, be able to do whatever they want to do, government should keep our taxes down and keep our regulations low, that we shouldn’t get involved in the bedroom, we shouldn’t get involved in cultural issues. That is not how traditional conservatives view the world. There is no such society that I’m aware of, where we’ve had radical individualism and that it succeeds as a culture.”

The facts don't support your view, but you're welcome to it. And if you think Rick Santorum is the most electable candidate in the race, you must have missed last night's debate. He was angry, petulant, boastful, and spent all his ammo attacking his fellow Republicans instead of Obama.
He was the least presidential person on that stage last night. Frankly, his performance was a cringe-worthy embarrassment, and I believe it killed much of his remaining support.

A friend of mine classifies Santorum as a Christian Democrat in the European sense. I tend to agree. I have also had my fill of “compassionate conservatism”, which has led us to this place.
Article IV, Section I is what gets the feds involved in the marriage debate.
If they find a church willing to marry them then the state would have to recognize it because of free relgion. I think.
