I am a staunch advocate of smaller government but surely you’re not saying that social conservatives should have no voice in our government? It’s not cut-and-dried that social conservative=big government advocate.

No, I never said they shouldn't have a voice...like the old saying goes...don't piss on my leg and tell me it's raining.
Same thing goes for social “conservatives”....they are not conservative at all...they are the tea teatotalers who brought us prohibition....they used to be called social progressives but moved to the conservative side when the Democrat party tossed God out of their “mix”...
