An ex-wife of Newt Gingrich told ABC Newss Nightline that the Republican presidential candidate wanted an open marriage.
In a published clip of Brian Rosss interview with Marianne Gingrich, which will air tonight, Marianne Gingrich said her husband wanted her to accept the fact that he had a mistress. He was asking to have an open marriage and I refused, she said.
Marianne Gingrich said Newt Gingrich admitted to his six-year affair with Callista, a congressional aide who is now married to the candidate. Newt Gingrich allegedly said Callista doesnt care what I do.
Asked for her response, Marianne Gingrich said she responded, No, that is not a marriage.
According to ABC News, Marianne Gingrich will say her husband does not have the moral character to be president. She will express her shock at learning that her husband conducted his affair with Callista in my bedroom in our apartment in Washington.

So....you are voting for the Democrat running against the GOP? Don’t answer...it’s rhetorical.
Or maybe an exwife can conjur up all kinds of bitterness for the right amount of money? Wonder how much she is getting paid for this mess? Things that make me go hummm...
Marianne, did you wait for Mitt’s check to clear before this interview?
“just like in the old days when he tricked his wives while carrying on affairs.”
Which innocent waif are you speaking of,, The teacher who got inviolved with a high school student,, or the naive poor thing who managed to steal him away as he was on the rise with political ambition?
Quit acting like these women were any less craven than any politician. Marianne isn’t exactly the high school sweetheart story. Just another typical chick grapping at powerful guys.
Thinking that an accusation by a bitter ex-wife who's already said that her goal in life is to destroy Newt's career amounts to fact. I say, "Prove it, lady, or get back on the bus."
Maybe she’s not telling the whole truth? Like for example, she wasn’t having relations with him anymore due to her real or imagined MS or her constant nagging complaints?
The bottomline is that it does not matter now. He’s happily married to a woman who provides for him what he needs.
Does the name Larry Sinclair not ring any bells??
I think I’ll forget my wedding vows and go ask my spouse right now for an open marriage.
Gingrich's numbers are inflated by the ridiculous number of debates that have been held during this primary-fifteen at last count.
As Krauthammer has pointed out, there will be three debates between Obama and whoever the Republicans nominate, and they won't be determinative of who wins the election.
Well that’s what I am trying to figure out here...what exactly does she have to prove?
On multiple occasions Newt did not honor his marriage vow...in fact in each case he proposed a new vow to someone else well still bound by an existing vow...
DOESN’T SOMEONE’S WORD MEAN ANYTHING ANYMORE?
LOL. Yeah. Because Newt has such a stellar record on the subject. He will be laughed off the stage. His history with wives and lovers reads like a cheap Harlequin novel.
Uh, that it actually happened?
Don’t you get 5 wives or something?
And shame on you for pushing uncorroborated stories of a horridly bitter ex-wife pushed by the MSM.
Her daughters are calling her a liar.
“Gingrich’s numbers are inflated by the ridiculous number of debates that have been held during this primary-fifteen at last count.”
I don’t see the problem with the debates. Newts a good debater, no denying that. The problem is his many mistresses, both carnal and political. There is not a principle he has not shown a willingness to compromise.
The problem with Newt is not the charge his ex-wife is making (I assume without proof) the problem is that the charge is very believable, given Newt’s past behavior.
Newt needs to drop out. Conservatives need to press for selecting a candidate at the convention, regardless of the primary results. We’ve been short-changed.
Instead of open-marriages, conservatives need to start talking about open conventions.
It seems more honorable to me than conducting an affair in secret, like so many Americans prefer to do. Say we bail on Newt, making Santorum the standing champion, and we find out his life isn’t squeaky clean. This nonsense is a road map for Obama’s victory, if we continue to follow it. Go Newt!
“Why should we believe a bitter, old, nagging X-wife?”
Because Romney’s stock-in-trade is getting on message boards with his minions and stirring up fake anger.
