The best thing for SC to do is to vote for Gingrich so the race is still wide open and the media’s attempts to play us for fools is ineffective. We mustn’t ditch somebody just because the lamestream media plays coy with us. Keep Gingrich in the running and then when we know what the media really has, decide what to do. IOW, READ THE BILL BEFORE YOU VOTE ON IT. A vote for Gingrich would just be saying that we refuse to vote on the basis of a vague media threat that they won’t even allow us to “read” first.
Old card rules apply: When in doubt play the queen.

You are confused here. The wife in the spotlight, Marianne the Vicious, is the second wife of Newt, never had cancer and never had children with Newt. However, Marianne the Viscious was married to Newt during the years where his baggage was created, and she probably does know plenty, can exagerate plenty, and manufacture anything she likes. Who’s to stop her?
Hopefully, the decades old saw will backfire on the shrew and perhaps help Newt! Everyone has had a hag in their life. She must want Romney or Obama at any price.

They were separated for several years but not according to her. Shes a very angry, bitter woman. She gave an interview to HuufPo etc. And claims to be a Tea Partier. Right.
Correct! She's no TEA Partier.
She is a "I couldn't have him, so he can't have what he wants: the presidency or any happiness!"

"If the story is about a Republican why would it cause civil war at ABC ....they would all rush to air it, so maybe it is something distasteful about a rat. "ABC? They're probably concerned with maximum damage to a Republican winning the Presidency. They hate us - might delude themselves into doing what's 'right' but strangely enough - when it's a conservative, what's 'right' for liberals is 'most damage'. (While trying desperately NOT to look like the biased haters they really are...)

It’s called the internet, and that’s why so many in the establishment want to have the power to silence it.

Newt will weather this just fine and he will go on to be a very good president.

They were still debating whether Obama has a better shot of defeating Newt or Mitt in November. Sounds like since the “offshore tax haven” story hit they’ve decided they’ll try to give the nomination to Mitt after all.

It’s downright dirty for them to wait and try to shake SC voters confidence in Newt so they vote for “safe bet” Romney.
Anyone that listens to Drudge or ABC is not a conservative.

According to a quote in a Washington Post story, someone claimed Marianne Gingrich said the following in relation to a bribery investigation, “It’s time for me to make money using my husband, and after we get started doing this, it will be easy.”
Mitt’s already cut the check and it’s in the mail, Marianne!

Which is just what they want. They get to have it both ways.
Thanks for trying to bring the discussion back to where it should be: the fact that ABCNews is playing games here with trying to decide when to air this.
The fact is, they should air the thing now. We should want them to air it now, because it'll give the SC voters additional information on which to make an informed decision.
There are a few ways that this could go. First, she comes across as woman scorned and the whole thing is easily dismissed early in the cycle. Second, she provides devastating information not yet known on Gingrich, which kills his campaign early and allows a more viable candidate to win the nomination. Third, she provides damaging but not fatal information on Gingrich, allowing him (should he win the nomination) to counter, recover and be able to portray it all as "old news" by the time the general election rolls around.
I'm not going to waste my time speculating as to what it may be or may not be. I want to know what it is, I want to know now and I want to be able to make a decision on whether I'll support Gingrich based on the fullest amount of information possible.

You may be entirely too pure for this particular thread, with Newt’s past and all, you know, with your delicate sensibilities? But I doubt it. I have this image of you cheerfully dancing on graves stone cold sober, as a past time while salivating. LOL! You are tracking through the blood around the body here and it isn’t really all that classy. In fact, it may backfire on both you and Marianne Viscious. The troops may actually rally who don’t like sour grapes and the candidate hawking during the fall of another.

Gingrichs first wife had cancer and SHE filed for divorce long before the surgery. She is still living. Their daughter, Jackie Cushman, wrote an article about and its on FR.
Yes, I remember reading about Newt's first wife, and how that story was enhanced to make Newt look bad. This second wife I know nothing about, but when an x goes out to hurt him after all these years I would question her character too.
