I believe Mrs.Santorum is perfectly capable of defending herself against scurrilous insinuations of 30 years ago.....

Has she even responded to the photos of her with the abortion doctor?

That’s exactly what I’ve been seeing. I can’t believe Drudge would waste a siren on an ex-wife interview. He’s been posting anti-Newt stuff all day and seems incredibly excited to have this new info.

I read somewhere that the reason Republicans didn’t support him was because he pushed them to the right and they didn’t like it.

Not really. One reason for his lack of support was this:

"The Republican leader has taken much of the blame for the party's unexpectedly lacklustre performance in the elections, the worst performance in 34 years by a party not in control of the White House."

Also, many House members were dissatisfied with Gingrich abandoning the emphasis on cutting taxes.

Many contemporaries of Gingrich, including those who worked for him, remember that he was arrogant and not a very likeable person

Mark also said he had never seen a Republican primary filled with so much anger and vitriol between candidates.

Is Breitbart shilling for any particular candidate, or can we trust what he would come up with?

Somehow we need to tell these guys that they have to level with us. Romney needs to release his tax records BEFORE we vote for him to be our candidate. Santorum needs to show that his father was a US citizen at the time of Rick’s birth, and he needs to show that to us BEFORE we vote for him to be our candidate. I’m sick of these candidates acting like Nancy Pelosi - “We have to vote for the candidate so we can find out what’s in him...”

I have one thing to say to the pubbie establishment and to every candidate: STOP SCREWING WITH US. THIS NATION’S VERY EXISTENCE HANGS IN THE BALANCE, AND WE CAN’T AFFORD YOUR OWN EGO GETTING IN THE WAY.

The one thing that has been attractive about Newt thus far is that he seems to understand that we are in serious doo-doo, and has said he would drop out and give his support to a different conservative candidate if that’s what he needs to do. In some ways that’s like the mother standing before Solomon who would give the baby up to the other woman claiming the baby was hers rather than see it killed. Solomon ruled that she was the real mother of that child, because she cared more for the child than for winning.

I don’t know how much damage this will do to Gingrich, but I do believe that if Gingrich thinks this will usher in Mitt he will give his support to either Santorum or Perry. We need to know whether Santorum is a natural born citizen. These people have GOT to level with us. I also believe that Gingrich would make a great VP - especially since the VP’s role in the campaign is to be the attack dog which is what Newt does best. If Newt would be Perry’s VP could they insist on debates that were with the entire ticket - both Pres and VP? If so, Gingrich could shore up Perry’s debate performances. Same thing could happen with Santorum if he’s NBC.

santorum is not even within striking distance of gingrich and santorum has ZERO, ZIP, NADA, NONE of any hope of catching romney.

perry is in the single digits,

kook paul is just a nutjob. (seriously he fle to dc for a symbolic no vote like all his other symbolic no votes.)

that leaves either go with ginrich to TRY and stop romney or those self richeous pharasees of the evangelicals are going to have to get used to voting for a person who happens to be a mormon.

I’m sure he knew it was just a matter of time. Especially after her quote in 1995.

And Gingrich was the first Republican Speaker in 40 years. I remember that time VERY well. The Republicans had NO idea what to do with power. Gingrich did though. Weasels like Lindsey Graham hated him. Appeasers don’t like making waves.

She should respond as soon as some reporter asks Mrs. Obama who she diddled when she was young. Until then she should not say a damn thing.

They already hit Santorum yesterday with the story of his wife's long - term relationship with an abortionist 20 years older than her. Please try and keep up, LOL.

“Furthermore, all of you guys saying, in essence, “big whoop, an ex-wife has it against her husband”, wouldn’t be so dang cavalier if Newt was a dem”

You’re looking at it the wrong way. It’s not what we would do... What would the dems do in this situation? They would coalesce around their guy and they would win. They wouldn’t give two flying f#$@s what we think. Why should they? Why should we?

Perfect is not in this race. Newt is the best we have. He has the ability to put all the leftist garbage into proper perspective for the average Joe - we need to circle the wagons and fight.

It was wife number one who died of cancer and her daughter emphatically denied that her father (Newt) served divorce papers when she was in extremis.

She's still alive.

http://www.creators.com/conservative/jackie-gingrich-cushman/setting-the-record-straight.html

My mother and I have both recently run into quite a few people who hold an inaccurate understanding of this hospital visit. Many think my mother is dead.

So, to correct the record, here is what happened: My mother, Jackie Battley Gingrich, is very much alive, and often spends time with my family. I am lucky to have such a "Miracle Mom," as I titled her in a column this week.

As for my parents' divorce, I can remember when they told me.

It was the spring of 1980.

I was 13 years old, and we were about to leave Fairfax, Va., and drive to Carrollton, Ga., for the summer. My parents told my sister and me that they were getting a divorce as our family of four sat around the kitchen table of our ranch home.

Soon afterward, my mom, sister and I got into our light-blue Chevrolet Impala and drove back to Carrollton.

Later that summer, Mom went to Emory University Hospital in Atlanta for surgery to remove a tumor. While she was there, Dad took my sister and me to see her.

It is this visit that has turned into the infamous hospital visit about which many untruths have been told. I won't repeat them. You can look them up online if you are interested in untruths. But here's what happened:

My mother and father were already in the process of getting a divorce, which she requested.

Dad took my sister and me to the hospital to see our mother.

She had undergone surgery the day before to remove a tumor.

The tumor was benign.

Maybe half or more of all the US presidents (and a large percentage of all American married men) should have been or are automatically disqualified to serve as president.

I see posts regularly that deride Kennedy and Clinton for their marital infidelities.

Is it wrong to bring that up?

Remember seeing the LA Times video of Barack Obama’s presence at a controversial farewell party for former PLO terrorist Rashid Khalidi.....me either.

The LA times wrote about Obama's presence at the dinner in an April, 2008 article. I don't think Khalidi has ever been officially charged with terrorism, although he may have acted as a spokesperson for the PLO.
