GOP Debate
(Excerpt) Read more at live.foxnews.com ...
Like I said I support the issues he is bringing to the dialog, he seems to be the only one that realizes just how far we have gone down the road to ruin and that our only path out is to return to small honest constitutional government. FYI Paul was 1 of only 4 congressmen that supported Reagan in 76. And was a Reagan delegate to the GOP convention. Paul in 88, unhappily with deceit spending left the GOP and stupidly said some ugly things. Things he should apologize for, the man is immaterial to me at this point, it is the issues that matter. And I am not the only one saying that. You don’t have to embrace the man to see he is right on a large number of very important issues.
I was 16 when Houses of Holy came out
so I am a formative years Zep sort...from LZ One to maybe Physical Graffiti but I probably was honed by LZ IV...not a bad song on it
and Big Mama’s When the Levee Breaks is a top five rock anthem for me
” Well, I never take ANYTHING Morris has to say to the bank, but I think he could be right on this one. “ <<<
On such a particularly good night for NEWT, I too decided to agree with Dick Morris, of all people! LOL! I especially liked the part where he had said weeks ago, that Newt was one good debate away from retaking the lead. Hope so. :)
oops, deficit not deceit although that kinda fits too.
“You dont have to embrace the man to see he is right on a large number of very important issues.”
Right on what ? Surrendering to Iran ? Repealing DADT ? Refusing to defend traditional marriage with a Constitutional Amendment ? Teaming up with Bawney Fwank and some $oros commies to slash the military by 50% in the middle of a war ?
I’d rather gouge my own eyes with a fork from a leper colony than vote for RuPaul....or his buddy Mitt Commie, for that matter.
Hey, thank you Lynne, for your reply. I thought I noticed him, but it was only once so I couldn’t be sure.
“Frank Luntz said its the very time that he could recall a standing ovation at a debate for Newt.”
Well, I don’t remember if was Frank or who, that said it was the first time in all the debates there’s been a standing ovation, period (for any candidate).
I have been hot and cold about him over the years, but I have never doubted he is the smartest guy in the room the minute he steps through the door.
Before the tragedy that was the 2008 Elections, I told anyone who would listen that all I wanted was the Country to see the deranged Liberal debating the consummate Conservative. We haven't had a good spokesman for our side as a Candidate since Reagan.
Newt is far from perfect, but I would pay to see him going toe to toe with Obama. I thought the Debates with Dick Cheney against Lieberman and the Silk Pony were great, but seeing Newt dismantle the Dear Leader would be something that would be on my Bucket List. I would die a happy man...

See post 1874.
The problems is that the way the primary system works, a disproportional emphasis is weighed on the early states. Candidates have to be strong early or the case is made that one is not viable and then the money dries up. You don’t stand a chance in Florida if you fall flat in SC.
In 2008, Giuliani decided to play all his cards in FL. All things being equal it might have been a reasonable plan. But all things are not equal in the process and how the primaries are promoted. If Perry could put all his cards on Texas and skip all the little NH’s out there it would be different for him. Unfortunately, that is not how the game is played.
Post of the night! I agree..... if Rush Limbaugh is not praising Newt tomorrow, I will turn him off forever. Newt and Rush are the 2 main reasons I follow politics, but given Rush’s misinformed attacks on Newt last week.... which did some damage..... I need to re-evaluate him. If he doesn’t strongly praise Newt after this debate performance, he is a waste of my time, and doing incalcuable damage to this country.
” Newt wants Palin, he knows what shed do for him nationally... “ <<<
You mean TO him nationally, don’t you? Can you imagine the loss of support, beyond the South?
That is false.
Ron Paul supporters have been banned on free republic. And Jim likens Ron Paul to Zero and to Romney. All three candidates would reek havoc on our nation and all three need to be stopped.
Newt is only human--all too human--like the rest of us. But, I see Newt as the best candidate to face Obama, and I pray--very earnestly--that Newt recognize the absolute truth of Jesus' warning to those who seek to "bear good fruit". Without Him, ain't gonna happen!
That is my prayer as well, I pray this every day. If we will go to our Father and ask for this land to be healed, and raise up Speaker Newt Gingrich to be the leader to do so, I believe HE will hear our prayers. I truly believe that.
I want America BACK, we are a CHRISTIAN NATION, in spite of what the "present" has said. We need to prove it NOW.
I stole it from some other FR - don’t remember who, but it’s so good, I think it deserves to be a rallying cry.LOL
Two questions maybe you can help me with:
1) Why does Ron Paul attack Santorum for voting against a national right-to-work law, then in the next breath, defend himself for voting against national tort-reform for gun manufacturers? If he was a consistent true-blue states-rights advocate, wouldn’t he support Santorum’s “nay” vote on federal right-to-work?
2) Why didn’t Ron Paul show up for work to vote against what he called “a giant step [toward] literally legalizing martial law” — the National Defense Authorization Act? If he feels that strongly about it, why couldn’t he make time to vote against it?
I’ll hang up and listen to your answers.
” Do you really think Sarah Palins appeal is restricted to Alaska? “ <<<
Are you serious? Her “appeal” in Alaska? LOL! Did you see her poll numbers in Alaska? Guess not. The nominee will not be calling upon Palin for anything anywhere near his ticket. Sheesh. Let it go.
