Democrats have taken the lead in a generic congressional ballot for the first time since being washed out of office by Republicans in the 2010 election, according to a Democracy Corps survey released Friday.
...
Fifty-three percent said they were increasingly displeased with Republicans in Congress, and the same amount said they were turned off by the increasingly contentious GOP presidential primary.

As well as killing a lot of Republican senators and congressmen in 2006.
Yes this is real
In 2010 I kept asking, are you sure you want Republicans to take the house from Pelosi? She is the lightning rod now. Do you want to lose that? The answer was always 'yes'. In fact many posts here in 2010 were saying that Obama would easily lose 2012 and may not even run. Well, welcome to reality.
Republicans won and took power without a real plan and without real leadership and they ignored the fact that bad economic times mean that voters want the Federal government to do something for them, or look like they are trying.
So as Obama put on the “Alls I want is jobs and what's good for the American people” act., Republicans acted like 2011 (the wasted year) was still 2010 and Pelosi was still in charge,
Here is a clue Republicans in congress : explain why you are better than Democrats AND SHOW THEM. Don't just assume you will win automatically.
Correct. Democracy Corps is run by James Carville and funded by George Soros. It is a disinformation outfit.
” The two year long campaign season is taking a toll. “
There are those so mad that there is now an audible, defiant intention to vote for Ron Paul, as a protest to the cram down procedure being orchestrated—the Romney procedure. I have heard that from TWO people this weekend, which makes me wonder who all will do the same, but aren’t going to be caught dead saying so. Hmmmmmm.
“.....if the Stupid Party establishment can’t get Romney, they’ll be happy with another 4 years of Obama. Anything but an actual conservative. That’s what’s going on here. “ <<<
POST OF THE DAY. And so simply said, as the fact it is.
Boehner, McConnel and that House Whip guy-what’shisname- simply want entrenched power, and they will take it in any size, shape or form, even under the “new” socialist/Marxist regime. None have uttered a convincing conservative word about anything, EVER. Conservatives are held with contempt, as Rush has said.
” I have resisted the calls for a third party in the past, but I am right on the edge now. “ <<<
No need to resist. Paul IS running Third Party. He’s just running it inside the Republican Party.
Wrong.
Ya miss the big picture.
Only those connected to government or benefit off the "business as usual government", don't want change. They have a rather large conflict of interest here and there are millions of them.
I can assure you, the majority of private sector, middle class America want's big change.
For the first time? There have been several polls that have showed the rats in the lead on the generic ballot over the past year. I never thought it mattered much. At least not unless it’s some kind of huge lead. We have 435 separate races. In 1996 the democrats managed to win the overall popular vote for the House but Republicans took 228 seats. And I don’t think Republicans ever lead the generic polls in 1994, might be wrong.

Remember in 2010 we (or they) didn’t win a lot of democratic seats, we took back Republican-leaning seats lost to fake moderate/conservative democrats in 2006 and 2008 and won a few other conservative seats that were long democrat held. I don’t see those seats reverting. Maybe in a horrible RINO President’s midterm election but not now.
The district boundaries favor a GOP majority. In my opinion the only way the democrats win the House is a big Obama win with sufficient coattails.
I think the GOP will end up with both Houses even if he wins. In fact I put Obama’s own odds of winning much higher than Reid and Pelosi’s.
There are a lot of 1948 parallels with this race but I don’t think democrats storming back into the Congressional majority will be one of them.
I agree though, we talked about this last week, you being correct and your opponents being scum is not enough to win, you have to win in the trenches.
From a January 18, 2010 Democracy Corps poll:
What would be your reaction if Santorum or Gingrich were nominated and Obama cleaned his clock anyway?
Not so far. But it will. WE WILL NOT VOTE FOR ROMNEY
or ANY PARTY THAT PICKS HIM.
Let us remember that the SAME Team Romney and RNME attacked
Gov. Palin on the EVE of Election 2008 to throw the election.
FLASHBACK:
The McCain/Palin ticket was up ++4 to 10 pts
in some polls, days prior to Election 2008.
So rather than helping the GOP, Romney and
TeamROMNEY and the RNME (Republican National Media Establishment)
decided
to attack Gov. Palin to throw Election2008.
Romney, and the Van der Sloot RNME RINOs for Obama in 2008
The Palmetto Scoop reported: "One of the first stories to hit the national airwaves was
the claim of a major internal strife between close McCain aides and the folks handling his running mate Sarah Palin."
"Im told by very good sources that this was indeed the case and that a rift had developed, but it was between Palins people and the staffers brought on from the failed presidential campaign of former Gov. Mitt Romney, not McCain aides."
"The sources said nearly 80 percent of Romneys former staff was absorbed by McCain and these individuals were responsible for what amounts to a premeditated, last-minute sabotage of Palin."
aides loyal to Romney inside the McCain campaign, said The Scoop, reportedly saw
that Palin would be a serious contender for the Republican nomination in 2012 or 2016, which made her a threat to another presidential quest by Romney.
"These staffers are now out trying to finish her off .hoping it would ingratiate themselves with Mitt Romney."
"Peeking Out From the McCain Wreckage: Mitt Romney"
"Someone's got to say it: IS MITT ROMNEY RESPONSIBLE FOR OBAMA'S VICTORY?"
"Vanity: Team Romney Sabotaged Palin and Continuing to Do So?"
"Romney Supporters Trashing Palin"
"Romney advisors sniping at Palin?"
Wrong. Ya miss the big picture.
About half of American households these daze receieve some type of Government benefits. [I have to count myself among them as I’m retired military.] Beyond that, a lot of others are sypathetic to big Government entitlement spending, especially Union and women folk.
As for me, I’m reconciled to the fact that my military retirement benefits will slowly wither away. Its already happening to our healthcare benefit. But I’ve done well enough professionally/financially that I can withstand it. Even so, it burns me too see the Government extending (expanding) benefits to those who have done zero (or less) for this country see while military retirees (veterans) get screwed. I’m especially talking about illegals. Why? Because there are a lot of them and only a relative few of us.
Welcome to the United Soviet States of America..where the Pravda State Media vet the candidates to the pleasure and needs of the RinoCrat UniParty.
This election will be a non-election...featuring the state approved candidates-whose only distinction is whether they are black or white.
You said:
=============WHO are they? NAME THEM!!==============
There are thousands of them, but here are a few of their names:
William Kristol
Charlie Black
John Feehery
Scott Reed
Vin Weber
I get these names from this thread:

And don’t forget one more name:
Karl Rove

Look at his snarky comment regarding tea partiers reading the road to serfdom.
As far as politicians go, you’ve got the bush’s, mccain, lindsey graham, romney, huntsman, boehner, mcconnell.... the best one is trent lott, who said this:

http://lonelyconservative.com/2010/07/ill-take-a-jim-demint-disciple-over-a-trent-lott-disciple-any-day/
“We dont need a lot of Jim DeMint disciples,” Lott said in an interview. “As soon as they get here, we need to co-opt them.”
It kind of goes without being said that Jim Demint is *NOT* a member of the establishment. The republicans hate Demint’s guts, and they’d piss on him like those marines did to that taliban fighter.
-————————What would be your reaction if Santorum or Gingrich were nominated and Obama cleaned his clock anyway?-——————
I believe that’s a strong possibility, as I eluded to at post 1. If the establishment loses and Romney is not the candidate, the republicans *WILL* help the media defeat the conservative. It’s in their blood.
How about Boehner loses some seats but still keeps a slim majority and McConnell picks up a slight un-governable majority in the Senate like Democrats have now? Then Republicans look like they own congress but still can't get anything done. If Obama wins re-election that is perfect for him, as with Clinton after 1994. If a Republican beats Obama it could be like Bush presidency with him feeling forced to compromise to get anything done to get re-elected.
Congressional Republicans should have been looking ahead to past the election, like a plan for "How can we look good to voters and make Obama look bad". Instead obama appears to be the only one playing that game. I remember one post here ~ year ago where one new House Republican said he didn't care if he won re-election. Now that should be obvious to everyone how shortsighted that thinking was.
That’s why when the establishment RINO orgs call for donations, I tell them to pound sand.
