The Post & Email has just learned that Lt. Col. Stefan Cook, about whose illness we reported yesterday, has passed away at the James A. Haley Veterans Hospital in Tampa, FL at approximately 2:30 p.m. today of pancreatic cancer.
Cook, then a Major in the U.S. Army Reserves, had challenged Obamas constitutional eligibility to serve as president in July 2009 through Atty. Orly Taitz. After Taitz filed the lawsuit in Georgia, Cooks orders to deploy to Afghanistan were rescinded by the Army, a move which Taitz had hailed as a victory.
At the time the lawsuit was filed, Maj. Cook had expressed his concern that he might be carrying out illegal orders in the event that Obama was not constitutionally qualified to issue them. He had told WorldNetDaily, [Then] any order coming out of the presidency or his chain of command is illegal. Should I deploy, I would essentially be following an illegal [order]. If I happened to be captured by the enemy in a foreign land, I would not be privy to the Geneva Convention protections.

Pancreatic cancer.
I didn’t know that.
I glanced through and just saw it a post or three up.
Rest in peace Lt. Colonel, and may the Lord bless and comfort your family.
James and I are blessed to have known Stefan, a patriot and hero.
We are keeping his family in our prayers. May God’s grace bring them comfort during their sadness and loss.
God Bless Lt. Col Cook and his family. May he Rest in Peace.
God Bless Lt. Col Cook and his family. May he Rest in Peace.
*sigh* I hate cancer. RIP Major Cook.
Stefan was a great guy. He did some work for us and in the process helped raise about $120,000 for a children’s hospital. He also spent about 10 months in Guantonimo as DAC recently.
It was so strange. I was in Tampa today and drove past the VA hospital about 2:30. Planned to drop in to see family at about 6:00. Called, only to learn he was gone.
RIP, our FRiend.
RIP for one of our own.
God bless the spirit of Stefan Cook and also his family.
Truly a man of great courage.
Prayers up. RIP, roaddog.
God rest you Roaddog727. Your family has my prayers.
