It was Day 1 of what is shaping up as a 10-day test of whether conservatives can marshal the arguments, tactics and unity to slow Mr. Romney and rally around a single alternative -- and of whether Mr. Romney, now in a commanding position, can show the muscle needed to stamp out the opposition and take control of the party.

Truthfully, I agree with every word you said. He certainly didn’t have to overly praise Romney.....Boy that is so true. I feel of Romney this year the exact same way I did McCain in 2008...maybe more. To be honest, we were just learning about what a shyster that Romney was in 2008. I personally did not know all the liberal things he believed in 2008. Yep, stupid on my part for sure.

Let’s go Newt. The best true conservative reformer to effect true change in DC - not simply vocal rhetoric. More jobs, stronger economy, less trade deficit - Vote Newt. He is also simply a good person, honest, and willing to admit past mistakes. He is genuine and he is a fighter with a strong heart for steering America back on track. Let’s go Newt!

I agree with everything you said about Newt, and after much prayer and research, I've settled on Newt as my candidate. Now I'm praying that the voters of S.C, Florida and Super Tuesday do the same thing.
Now I see that Bain Capital owns Clear Channel that owns Premiere Network, that owns Rush, Hannity, Beck, Savage, and Levin. No wonder this feels like a Romney juggernaut—it is. Well, we've fought bigger and won. Here's to a repeat upset victory.

The media is telling the nation that if Willard wins SC, he will cruise to the nomination. I don’t think the generally undecided voters of SC are ready for this to be over yet, and may go for other candidates just to stop the Romney/Big Media/Wall Street juggernaut.

THE REAL STORY: There is an ad that Kennedy created in 1994 that slams Mitt on Bain. The ad was never used. The dems were going to hammer Mitt on this as their Oct surprise. Dang good thing it is out, thanks to Newt and Palin. The GOP is stupid to think Bain wouldn't be a major issue and in their effort to make excuses for Mitt they are blaming Newt for attacking capitalism. Now they have set up the election to be against Mitt AND capitalism. STUPID GOP. Perhaps OWS was created to heighten awareness in anticipation of Bain. Who knows with the Chicago machine. This was going to come out and we voters would have been blindsided. The GOP chose, Mitt without vetting him and they chose the wrong person. Mitt is not electable in the general election because of Bain, not because of Newt. Sarah and Newt have brought this out in an effort to save our election, IMO. Sarah has been warning us to vet ALL candidates and that some had not been vetted. She said Obama will bring out anything we don't bring out. Duh. Link to ad:

Mitt is unelectable in the general election and the GOP F-up up by not vetting him, or by being stupid and thinking they could handle this Bain thing. NO WAY, We are screwed if Mitt is the nominee.

beat him like a red headed stepchild lets show basically everyone in the media or print or pundit or ex-whatever who claims they are conservative that they are so full of crap and YES WE CAN beat their frigging pick of another milquetoast asshat for us to vote for
You're drinking what I'm drinking, brother.
Let's not just beat Romney in South Carolina, let's *embarrass* him. A third place finish would do just that.

Ping to my comment #28. I saw your comment on another thread telling a FReeper that the Dems have known about Bain. You are correct.

I hope you’re correct. IMHO, Rick Santorum is the only electorally viable conservative in the race.

Did you see how the D.C. Establishment has denounced attacks on Romney’s record at Bain Capital? It proves that the attacks are working. If Romney loses the South Carolina primary, it gives us a chance to regroup.

The party establishment is hardly alone, Rush Limbaugh and numerous freepers agree this avenue of attack is wrongheaded, because it is.
I can be realpolitik about it, if it actually works towards defeating Romney then yay, it would serve him right after he claimed to have been a “job creator”. But it’s already backfired to a great extent.
