I want to see a breakdown of the ‘independent’ vote on the GOP side...would also like to know how ‘same day registrations’ played out...
FR is a CONSERVATIVE activist web forum, NOT a liberal debating society.
Get your head out of your forepoints of contact!
Sitting here with last of morning coffee, listening to “analysis” of last night’s “primary” and have questions of my own, especially to the Stoopid Party’s leaders.
How is it that “independents”, libdims, Paulbots, etc. get to vote in the Stoopid “primary” which determines who are delegates in the party convention - and everyone thinks this is reflective of the party’s choice?
The Stoopid leaders need to push for CLOSED PRIMARIES (yes, a PURITY test) to keep the vote reflective of party members. WTH function do these party “leaders” serve if they can’t get a “pure” vote?????
Do have a final vote tally? Last one I see is 95% and I don’t know your source/link.
Maybe a little late on this one, but here is 99% with delegates.
Mitt Romney 97,339 39.3% 7
Ron Paul 56,601 22.9% 3
Jon Huntsman 41,796 16.9% 2
Newt Gingrich 23,329 9.4%
Rick Santorum 23,204 9.4%
Others 2,666 1.1%
Rick Perry 1,762 0.7%
Buddy Roemer 941 0.4%
Good grief! How many zots a day are going on right now? LOLZ half my pings are zots at times! LOL
LOLZ that was a long time comin!
If only we had a candidate that had...
The brains and speaking power of Newt
The heart/soul/morals of Santorum
The magnetism of Perry
We did once. His name was Ronald Reagan.
Sadly we can only get pieces of him, and you can’t elect 3 people to the presidency.
Come to think of it, that’s why the darn conservative vote is split. These are incomplete candidates but are strong on one thing, and depending on our priorities, that’s who we break for.
I don’t think it’s gonna be enough to get rid of Mittens :-(

Congrats to Newt for his 125 point margin over Santorum.
Hi good buddy!
We need closed GOP primaries.
Closed to only Republican voters. Not open to Independents and register at the door on election day.
predictable by the GOP as well, and the reason that the GOP insiders have chosen early voting in certain states in order to set up this rigged primary system to get their choice elected
Yep, and the GOP’s two early states are not Republican states; i.e. not RED States.
It’s deplorable.
Furthermore, South Carolina is another OPEN primary, and IIRC, ditto for Florida.
Apparently I spoke too soon.
Newt wins by 49!
M. Romney 39.3 97,532
R. Paul 22.9 56,848
J. Huntsman 16.9 41,945
N. Gingrich 9.4 23,411
R. Santorum 9.4 23,362
R. Perry 0.7 1,766
B. Roemer 0.4 945
M. Bachmann 0.1 349
F. Karger 0.1 346
K. Rubash 0.1 250
G. Johnson 0.1 181
H. Cain 0.1 160
Cain + Santorum > Newt. Santorum victory in NH! 2-2!
Considering the fraud exposed on YouTube by James O’Keefe today, we may never know the TRUE vote totals in yesterday’s NH primary. Maybe Santorum DID beat Newt...
My oft mentioned idea is for a national primary with an instant runoff ballot. You could even split it up by state and do an electoral college kind of thing. Romney would lose.
One thing is certain, the current system is horsecrap. We start in January, long before the election, with a small state holding a beauty pageant vote, and then an even smaller state with the first primary. If Romney wins SC and FL with weak pluralities the race will be over before the large majority of Republicans get a chance to weigh in.
This was a very bad result in NH. The trio of NG, RS and RP getting less combined than the Paultard. Newt edging RS isn’t good. I know some of you prefer the Newt but I don’t see how he can possibly do it. Like Perry he was once in command of this race and collapsed.
Do we think Huntsman did well enough he could register enough support in SC/FL to hurt Romney? May be our only hope.
And Perry, I know he didn’t try in NH but 1%? After 5th place in Iowa? It’s endlessly amusing that he edged Santorum in the FR poll a couple days ago. Give me a break. It’s over Governor, have some dignity.
Crazy primary season so far. Gotta love it.
I called Newt way back at 91 percent, when Santorum didn’t get the swing he needed. That was a heck of a call. I knew it would be close in the end.
