They all need to read FR because I said the same thing back in 08.

The objective of the Republican primary is to deliver knock out blows to the strong RINOS early. In 2008 that meant McCain & Romney. Leave the weaker candidates for later.

These are not idealogical decisions. They must be strategic. Going forward that means vote for whomever is polling a strong #2 against Romney.

That’s what I did in NH and am hoping it keeps Romney under 35%

RUSH either needs to forceful come out against Romney or not utter a word until Nov 2. It’s one thing to vote for Romney if he’s up against Obama, it’s another thing to utter a single positive word about the guy.

Rush was one of the conservatives who jumped on the Romney bandwagon in '08 as a Stop McCain vehicle and inadvertently spawned Romney '12. Poor, short-term thinking.

Personally, I'm not a Romney fan but I can't say he's any worse than a lot of other moderate establishment types in the GOP, and he's better than some.

I'd like Mitt, Paul, and Santorum and/or Gingrich (maybe even Huntsman) to ride it out to the convention. Unlikely but possible.

Right in line with post 334 it says “to post 228” It was post 228 that earned the Rudy/Mythbot his ZOT.

The ‘’Union Leader’’ doesn’t seem to have much clout in NH, as the dinosaur media loses readers. I know they backed Pete DuPont in 1988, and he was soon out of the race too.

We have to face it. Newt is toxic and he has been for a long time.

No, Perry did poorly in Iowa and it caused him to stop and think over what to do.

He decided to continue, which was correct, IMO, why drop out after one caucus. Wait till South Carolina and super Tuesday. He still has money and organization.

But I would think you would want him to stay in. We are down to 3 conservatives and you want to kick out one?

The others are lagging, maybe it would be nice to have someone in reserve.

I like Newt myself, he’s my second favorite, but he’s got to reach the voters himself.

McQuaid seems to have an inflated sense of his own importance. His #1 requirement for any candidate is that they kiss his ring.

Darn, if the Perry people had voted for the Right Rick, Santorum would be in fourth place. He may yet edge out Newt for fourth, some bragging rights, eh?

The South Carolina primary historically has been more important for the Republican Party, being considered a “firewall” to protect front runners in the presidential nomination race. It was designed to stop the momentum of insurgent candidates who could have received a boost from strong showings in Iowa and New Hampshire.

New Hampshire, South Carolina, Florida and Missouri are open primaries! Anybody can vote and McCain had more Democrat votes then Republican!

I’m watching Huntsman giving his 3rd place victory speech right now. I will have to say one thing about a Huntsman. His wife is very, very pretty, and dresses exceedingly well. I think dark haired Mormon men of wealth, like having pretty blond women as wives, as evidenced by Ann Romney also. Of course lots of men like blond haired women, lol. Good eye candy.

Perry is staying in through South Carolina. Why do people keep saying he should drop out and support THEIR candidate?

And why do you think he would support Newt?

Maybe he would support Santorum.

I think right now he supports Rick Perry.

His 1% wouldn’t help Newt much anyway.
