The last Republican Governor of Illinois commuted the sentences of ALL the death row inmates when he decided he was against capital punishment.
He’s in federal prison now...but can’t seem to get anyone to return the favor.
Like Mississippi always says, “Thank God for Arkansas. We are #49!”.
Commute=/Pardon. And he was a Democrat. You expect that sort of thing out of them.

The death penalty will suddenly be a hot topic as the contenders shift their focus to South Carolina.
Barbour will live to regret this.
It will result in more murders, just like Huckabee’s pardons did.

This degree of contempt for justice is surprising, but the guy’s been souring on me for the last few years.

Hang on. Mississippi has some of the worst and most corrupt prosecutors in the nation. There have been quite a few bogus murder convictions. Hopefully, that’s what’s going on here.
There have been very questionable convictions down there. There's a DA named Allgood who has already had FOUR convicted murderers turn out to be innocent. And there are others still in prison.
If a couple of these were among them, Barbour might be absolutely justified. I'd hate to think he's just doing this because they made friends on their work detail.
Tell me, how could this possibly be a questionable conviction? Either he did it or didn't, and he was convicted. Is there a defense for this I'm not aware of?

David Glenn Gatlin, a trustee inmate has been working at the governor's mansion and is set to be released Sunday. A move that has the victim's family members angry and in fear for their lives. July 2nd, 1993, Gatlin turned himself in to authorities after he admitted killing his estranged wife, Tammy Ellis Gatlin and shooting/wounding Randy Walker.
"He has spent less time in jail than my little sister got to live. I don't know if Governor Barbour has kids but if one of his kids were murdered, I would like to think that he would want them to be put in prison until they died

This politician just pardoned David Glenn Gatlin, who was convicted for shooting to death his estranged wife while she cradled their baby, and shot a family friend in the head as well in 1993. AND GATLIN ADMITTED TO THE CRIME.
Next time before burping up comments like, "Hang on" you should take a few minutes and educate yourself.
That was just warnin’ to my missus. I understand wife killing. I understand what makes mister fist turn into mister revolver. I don’t approve of it, but actually I do. Get that, deary? I don’t want to characterize Barbour unfairly here until I know more, but on general principles I’d just like to say that I am sick and tired of people claiming to be a Conservative that do things like this.
The McCains, Romneys and other establishment Republican turds that do Leftist things in our name, are killing the Conservative movement. I have no tolerance at all for them.
I want people who are what they say they are. If they want to operate as a Lefist, then by all means change parties.
