Sorry, defense authorization isnt opening the door to a liberal police state
Can a mundane defense authorization law create an Obama dictatorship? Many people on the political right and left have been alarmed by language in the 2012 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) that they argue authorizes the president to use military force to capture, detain, torture and kill Americans at home and abroad. The furor centers on Sections 1021 and 1022 of the law, which deal with detaining terrorist suspects. Specifically at issue is to what extent the law allows the government to treat American citizens like enemies of the state.

Show us the path to deal with these tyrants and enemies of all free men.
“For all the rhetoric, the Tea Party doesn’t have much of an endgame, at least not one that concerns him.”
It is unfortunate that the conservative message and its delivery is looked upon with such disrespect in this regard...By both sides of the political aisle...
Everyone seemed to be paniking that November 2010 was supposed to be this all or nothing election...No one seemed to understand, or speak much to, the obvious need for an effective follow-thru in November 2012...
I believe we are past the point of no return...It’ll be a collapse or continue down the socialist road to collapse as the end game...No matter what the cost to those trying to benefit from that eventuality...
Those that choose to rise from the ashes will have to decide how to get back on track after the fact...
What the progressives want is for things to continue just the way they are...A lot of gas and no go...And whatever happens in the next election does not factor too much into the eventuality that is coming down the highway with lights and sirens on...
Our current situation (socially and economically) will seem like paradise compared to that future...
Just my opinion...And I believe a lot of people are just now starting to realize what that future is going to be...
I disagree.
The outcome is not a “given”.
I have been posting these pics on Facebook. Guess soon the knock will be on the door.
"Claiming serious reservations about the law he was enacting, Obama declared that my Administration will not authorize the indefinite military detention without trial of US citizens. He allowed that such a practice would break with our most important traditions and values as a nation.
Obamas pledge is as duplicitous as it is worthless. As one of the legislations key Democratic sponsors, Senator Carl Levin of Michigan, revealed, the Obama White House intervened directly into the legislative process to kill amendments that would have specifically prohibited the military from indefinitely imprisoning US citizens without trial. It viewed such an exemption as an unacceptable restriction on presidential power."
“istan” means ‘land of the’
Land of the Chicagos. Yeah, that makes sense.
so Pakistan is land of the Paks?
the prefix “de” means of so if someone is name DeVine, it’s of the vines........oooh, “that doesnt’ make sense”. what’s yer point Kemosabe?
oh AND I think Chicago is an Indian oops Native American name, so “land of the Chicagos actually does make sense, although this is a really dumb conversation
What is going on is the planting the seeds for a second American revolution.
Please see post number 51.
Wow, a recursive post! Nifty.
[giggle] Ok, so which one did you mean?
Yes, and Uzbekistan is land of the Uzbeks, Tajikistan is land of the Tajiks, etc. Kurdistan would be land of the Kurds, if they ever get it. You’ve at least heard of them being referred to as Kurds, haven’t you?
Nice point on Chicago, tho’ that’s not what the original poster meant.
Opps, I goof, me bad, post number 50. Take care. :)
Uh, methinks he was referring to the sociopolitical content of other “istan” countries, to wit Afghanistan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan - not exactly first-world economic powerhouses.
Couple with my comment of no apparent endgame, that’s what concerns me. As another noted, we’re past the point of no return ... thing is, seems nobody has a plan to get from here to the next stable/flourishing stage.
Last sentence is a given. Sooner or later it will eventually happen. The question isn’t if, but when. The divide is too wide, the differences too great, there is no way the 2 sides will ever come together peacefully. United States is no longer united. There are 2 distinct sides. One will win and one will lose, they cannot peacefully co-exist for long.
Yuri called it exactly like it is. Sadly, most people have never seen his videos. Maybe I will end everyone of my posts with links to the short, most pertinent clip for the next few months.
“The left is always out there and in your face. Our side, not so much.”
Of course “our” side generally has a job to go to. “Their” side can get paid for getting in our faces.
Heck, the game was just beginning and the Tea Party pulled up the stakes and crept away into hiding.

WHY??? I never could figure it out. The Tea party was responsible for us taking the house in 2010, then they sort of fizzled out. When you have momentum, you never, ever slow down or stop. I find it very weird.
