I'm thinking the only way we will be able to beat Obama will be to have a brokered GOP Convention and a "dark horse" candidate rise out of the ashes. Do I think it will happen? Heck no. So, we are, as my granny used to say: "In a mell of a hess". The GOP Candidates currently running, and the drop-out, Michele Bachmann, have beaten, bruised and bloodied each other so badly that were going to make doggone sure we send a nominee into the General Election damaged beyond repair; making victory easy for Obama. The Dems are loving our Primary Process. It should be called the Obituary Process since we're killing off all of our candidates one by one. Now RinoRom and Paully-Wally are aiming their guns on Rick Santorum. Friendly fire is just as deadly as enemy fire.
We are determined to pull defeat from the jaws of victory. And when that happens, we will have no one to blame but ourselves.
Rubio is NOT a natural born citizen. Therefor is NOT qualified for the office.

Well, we have a President who is not qualified either so WHO SHIVES A GIT? Hell, let’s just run an illegal immigrant for President; he’d have as much chance to win as the friggin’ meat-heads we have running now. TO HELL WITH ALL OF THEM!!!

Parties are always "addled" and "divided," but sometimes a superior candidate can manage to impress the voters and prevail over the others. That hasn't happened this time -- certainly not yet.
"Philosophical coherence"? Sometimes that works. Sometimes you can find it. Reagan, I guess. But it was more Carter's lousy performance that mattered.
You could have a very philosophically coherent candidate and still lose. Goldwater's a good example. Purism in itself doesn't open the door to the White House.

It is an option.

The circular firing squad rolls on................
A contested convention would be a vast improvement over the dull assemblages that conventions have become in the last four decades.
