Yet another teen has used deadly force to protect his home from intruders.
Police in North Carolina revealed a 14-year-old boy shot dead an intruder attempting to break into his home while he and his sister were alone.
The teen opened fire with a shotgun while his 17-year-old sister hid in a closet as a gang of men attempted to smash their way into their home.
The incident took place two days before 18-year-old Sarah McKinley shot and killed an intruder breaking into her home in Oklahoma
While on the phone with 911, the young mother shot and killed one of the intruders with a 12-gauge shotgun after he forced his way inside her home.

It’s getting to be pretty bad when I have to get my news from the Daily Mail, but they continually cover things that the media in the US will not even mention.
Amen! They need to fire that dispatcher!
The “Green Arrows” of approval are heartily up in favor of this kid at the Daily Mail. So it seems that the rank and file Englishman approves of the castle doctrine.
I got a couple police turn-ins at the local shop last year for $125 a piece.
This POS had more than 12 break-ins/thefts, 2 prison terms, and he was walking the streets!
We are at war. Thank God the good guys get to shoot back. Most places, they don’t.
NOW...he has paid his debt to society.
It is just possible the brother and sister decided that catching sight of a young woman would give the thugs an added incentive to break in.
Sorry, but the ferals were going to break in regardless.
Well, I do believeI am of the opinion that a shottie in the hands of Hollywood’s loveliest female, even were she totally nude, would induce behavioral reassessment on the part of the Ferals.

My answer had to do with center mass.
Appropriate answer, indeed...

Sounds awful. But, yeah . . .
There is no way to be “ready for anything.” In this case and in the OK case, had the home occupants been doing anything other than what they were doing at the time of the invasion, things could have (and likely would have) turned out very differently.
But, still, there are probably a number of things you could work into your situation/routine that would be helpful.
I think I’ll start that thread tomorrow. Thanks for the suggestion!
my husband has a guy at work named Seneca...and then there’s Seneca Wallace, the qb....
It is very, very hard to beat a good, large guard dog inside the house. First, they pick up on the faintest noises/smells. Second, they alert you quickly and pinpoint the threat. Third, they attack an oncoming intruder giving you precious seconds to arm yourself.
That’s a good buy
That’s right. The men are supposed to protect the women, not prey on them
I bet his actual name is Le Seneca.
There is what’s called the “2pm to 2am rule”, in that this is when most violent crimes happen.
Another useful screen is to look for local maps that list crime in a neighborhood. Many criminals are intensely modus operandi oriented, and hit the same residences, or neighborhoods, type of victim, time of day, etc., over and over again.
A police saying is that if they do it once and get away with it, they will keep doing it that way, even if they get arrested five times in a row.
I knew one imbecile who burgled the same lady’s house four times in a row. The last two times, when she called the police, they just went right to the burglar’s parents home, collected her stuff and arrested him, before even going to her home.
And ever single time he had punched a hole through the wall in her laundry room to get inside. Boy was not very bright.
I have one of those. He’s really a marshmallow once introduced... he likes to lie on top of his crate (level with the windowsill) and watch the outside. Those long pointy Shephard ears are a pretty good deterrent. And a sign that says “Dog on duty...takes job seriously”. ;-)
You’d think they’d be able to skate by in life on their good looks alone.
