Tea party favorite and pro-life conservative Sarah Palin and her family were viciously attacked to the point she chose not to run.
Congressional Tea Party Caucus leader and constitutional pro-life conservative Michele Bachmann had early promise, but I guess came across as too "shrill" and consequently her numbers driven down to the point she exited.
Successful pro-life conservative Texas Governor Perry hit the race at the top but due to missteps and less than stellar debate performances soon fizzled and is now all but gone.
Pro-life conservative businessman Cain and his famous 9-9-9 plan had promise, but was driven out due to indefensible allegations.
Pro-life Reagan Revolution conservative Newt Gingrich reinvigorated his campaign and soared to the top of the national polls, but was unacceptable to the establishment and apparently also unacceptable to the "true conservatives" among us and his numbers are now plummeting
You'd think "unquestionably" pro-life, pro-family conservative Rick Santorum whose recent surge took him to a tie in Iowa and who's now surging in the national polls might be good enough to stand against Romney for the base, but looks like there are "true conservatives" now attacking HIM as not good enough.
Well, drive them all out and who's left?
Huntsman? Who? Moonbat Paul?
Ideas anyone? Should we all continue attacking the conservatives we don't like until we drive them all out?
Personally, I could easily have lived with Palin, Bachmann, Cain, Perry, Newt or Santorum and would be proud to enthusiastically support any of them, warts and all. Any one of them is infinitely better than Obama or Romney.
But if we don't land on one soon and raise him up over Romney, guess who we're going to be stuck with? And it ain't going to be pretty. And if abortionist/statist/progressive Romney (or moonbat Paul) is the one, might as well get used to four more years of Obama. I won't vote for or support either one of those two.
I'd suggest that we all stop trying to tear down the other conservative candidates in the race and instead concentrate on trying to build up our own personal favorites. Who knows? May even discover an acceptable conservative (if not a great conservative) in the bunch. We've never had a perfect conservative yet. Not even the magnificent Ronald Reagan. We and they all have warts.
But we do want to have a candidate with at least an actual CONSERVATIVE record and not an out and out liberal progressive RINO. So let's compare their records and their actual conservative accomplishments but not try to destroy them personally.
God bless and may the best CONSERVATIVE be our nominee.
Go to the link and complain to them, Jim.
My reason for posting hadn’t anything to do with that, but the claim concerning the Occidental transcript.
The following was discovered over two years ago: Neil Sankey, a PI, discovered that BHO2 was using a number, 999-XX-XXXX, while at Occidental. That type of number is used by the Feds to track monies distributed to students who are foreign nationals receiving assistance from our government.
Yes. Every swinging donk has been reading since 2000, but just NOW you have an opinion. Get Bent.
GOP SKATING ON THIN ICE
Good advice.
Amen, Jim.
His grandfather was the immigrant...
Both Ricks parents were born in the US ...

That’s all the writer’s interpretation. The fact is no one is proposing truly and radically cutting government agencies except for Ron Paul. I agree with the basic notion that government needs to be bigger than it was when the country was founded because of how much more complex our country and the world has become. But it absolutely needs to be run better.
I don’t agree with the “send everything back to the states” thinking. I think too many conservatives think that’s the be-all, end-all of conservatism, but it’s an easy thing to say and unlikely to work out in practice. Modern technology has intertwined all of us nationally to a much greater degree. So many things one state can do affect the rest of us in a direct way. We are a much more powerful player on the international stage when we are the UNITED, not divided states. We cannot function with 50 hugely different sets of rules. Some of the states like California have gone so far off the rails that they ought to be reigned in by the rest of us. States are a great place for experimentation, but once we find policies that work, there ought to be a national movement to get them adopted nationwide.
Whether you believe in radically cutting federal government or not, there is going to be some government left and we need it to be run in an exceptional, not just competent matter. That is where many of those ideas that are discussed in your article will be a clear benefit to us.
Where’s the ‘like’ button? That was excellent. I just got done making the same points to a fence sitter on Facebook.
It’s also about the debates and ganging up on the RINO and Crazy man in the South Carolina Debates.
The Republican debates continue to gain in high rating.
Let Perry zing both Romney and Paul with things they never could have prepared for. If Perry wants to stay in though South Carolina and target Romney and Whats-his-face, than good for him.
Go NEWT !!!
Because he lives (and may politically die) by the creed that's been deeply ingrained in us since we were knee-high to an armadillo: Remember the Alamo! Remember Goliad!
It's stupid; I know. And hard to explain.
Romneys father George was born in Mexico...
The parents of George were not at the time of his birth under the jurisdiction of the laws of the US..
They did not want to be...
You rarely hear people talking about behind the scenes stuff there in this detail. I was fascinated by it and suspect there are others here who would enjoy it. Santorum did play a significant role in several of the good congressional actions back around Newt's golden age. Those who like Newt in part because of his ability to get things done, but don't know much about Santorum may find this useful in evaluating what Santorum might do, how he'd go about it and whether you believe he'd succeed. By all means use your own judgement. BTW, be warned that the audio quality is serviceable, not perfect. Sometimes it gets pretty soft and once you could hear a train passing outside.
If you like this it appears to be part of a series. They also have audio interviews with Perry (12/21/11), Gingrich (12/19/11), Romney, Bachmann (12/8/11) and Pawlenty (7/25/11). I haven't yet listened to any but Santorum's but will be downloading more to listen to when I find the time.
We should hold our criticism of the other candidates until Willard Romney the open socialist has been defeated. This is the test run for our ability to unite against socialism: can we defeat the socialist in our ranks, or will we send him to “defeat” the one in the White House?
Early Life
Richard John Santorum was born May 10, 1958, in Winchester, Virginia, the second of three children. His father Aldo, an immigrant from Italy, is a psychologist, and his mother, Kay, is a nurse.

I keep hearing three way splits here. “I’ll take any of these THREE.”
Sorry, we need to narrow it to ONE. ONE conservative candidate. NOW. Get behind him, turn off the GD TV and go into full grass roots campaign mode. Volunteer. Go door to door. Do the WORK. Send in the donations.
I have watched the media coverage this past week and I’m SICK to death of it already. They are tearing into Santorum tonight, as we speak, like raw meat. It’s psychological and it’s demoralizing.
Time to marginalize the media and the establishment. Time to choose ONE candidate and support them with all your might. For me it’s Newt — the ONLY one who will take it to Obama and embarass the living HELL out of him in front of the entire country and provide an articulate contrast to this POS. The only guy who has DONE IT in Washinton, in office, with any success!! Why do we even bother looking at other candidates??
The media — AND the rest of the feeble minded public can’t decide ... they whine about Newt with all of his divorces, and then turn around the mock Santorum for being a goody two shoes Christian. We’ll hear nothing but this petty double minded crap, in addition to all the racism PAP and we’ll all be at home with our tails between our legs.
TURN IT OFF. PICK OUR GUY and let’s GO.
Support your Candidate on Free Republic, but quit slinging fiery arrows at other Conservatives such as Newt.
Learn to only criticize Romney & Paul at this point.
And learn to only support Newt, Santorum or Perry based on your preference at this juncture.
Then choose to either support the Conservative candidate on Free Republic which at this point could be either Newt, Santorum or Perry.
This is what Jim is saying in my opinion.
Go NEWT !!!!
Well said. That’s where I have been for a long time. Unless I missed it what took you so long to state the obvious? :-). Romney is about to screw us and we still have some whining about the flaws of newt or Perry or whatever. Thanks.
Exactly.
