DALLAS - A 14-year-old Texas girl who has been missing since 2010 was mistakenly deported to Colombia by immigration agents and is now sitting in a detention facility waiting to come home.
According to CBS affiliate KHOU Jakadrien Turner ran away from home in the fall of 2010 following her parents divorce and the death of her grandfather. She ended up in Houston, where she was arrested for theft. The girl gave police a fake name, which apparently belonged to a 22-year-old illegal immigrant from Colombia, who had warrants for her arrest.

A good lesson for a 14 year old to learn. When you are asked your name, don’t be a wise ass and make one up. You could get deported. I’ll bet she gives her real name next time.

KHOU reports that ICE took the girl's fingerprints, but didn't confirm her identity before deporting her. They deported her based a only a 'name'. Nice work, DMV quality.

Illegal aliens? Actual illegal aliens? The ones who drive drunk? The ones who drive drunk repeatedly? The ones who drive drunk and kill someone?
We don't deport them. It would be cruel and inhuman.
14-year-old girls? [shrug] We pick 'em up and drop 'em in third world countries at the drop of a hat. Who's gonna stop us? We're the government.

If she had given her real name, they would have thought she had made it up: Jakadrian.

Irony: Giving fake name to avoid trouble, identify self as wanted fugitive and get deported. Arrive in foreign nation, be given work papers, work for weeks, finally get identified, get thrown in jail in Columbia for illegal entry, wait for countries to decide to send you home.
Adventure of a lifetime, at only 14 years old. The kid got bloody lucky; ended up in a Columbian work program rather than in a Columbian brothel. This story could have gotten a whole lot worse.

Hey, she could write a book about it now. If she’s literate enough (actually, I hope she is). Obviously they didn’t just leave her in the streets, even in Colombia.

“Jakadrien is African-American and reportedly speaks no Spanish.”
Well, she probably knows Spanish now. English doesn’t go too far in Columbia. It will probably help her overcome the handicap of having a first name like hers.

ICE needs some math lessons besides eyeglasses. 12 years old is not 22 years old. 22-12 = 10 years difference.
Thank you Janet Napolitano for showing how incompetent your people are. The buck stops here, so quit you SOS.

Not without plenty of help from the “victim”.
