...errr, WHEN it happens.
Good question.
I am not liking his chances after his advertisements regarding relating gays inn the military to praying in schools. I liked what he was saying, but aspiring presidents have to be more subtle and tactful about these things. If getting social justice is your number one goal, running for president is not a viable career option.
I think it’s very disappointing that so-called conservatives decided to pick their candidate based on answering trick questions posed by liberal “debate” moderators rather than actual performance.
Rick Santorum has virtually no infrastructure outside of Iowa. Even if he isn’t savaged by the media (and it will come) I don’t think he has enough money or national organization to win the primary, and I don’t think tonight’s win (or 2nd place?) will do enough for him to get everything together in time. Would love to be proven wrong though.
Romney = Obama wins. Enough said.
I happen to like Ron Paul’s domestic policies, and would be glad to support him if he won. But I think he has as much Republican opposition as Romney does, and agree that his foreign policy ideas are naive/impractical. I don’t think he will become the nominee.
That leaves 4th-place Newt as the best hope so far for an electable conservative. Which makes me sad as for everything that’s important, Perry is at least as good as Newt.
Should always include the Freeper when you mention their name. Maybe than CincinatusWife can answer the question directly.
Wow. Didn't think of that. She fought for her candidate like no other person here at FR. I will miss the constant Perry posting, but it didn't look good for Perry continuing after tonight. The letter reading seemed too sentimental to rally supporters to the next state. My condolences.
Who cares.
We’re down to two conservatives, a liberal from Massachusetts, and an Israel hatin’ Nutjob.
Pick a conservative.
(Michele, Cain, Palin, and Perry better endorse one SOON, too. Otherwise, it’s helping Willard.)
I had high hopes for Rick Perry. Too bad he couldn’t articulate consistent conservative ideas. I know I have been spoiled by having Marco Rubio clearly articulating conservative ideals. Time for Michele Bachmann to go too. I really wanted to be on her side as well.
I know how dedicated some of his FR supporters have been, but he just hasn't been making news, and I haven't seen any buzz about him for months now. I think the point has come where it's time to call it like it is, and throw in the towel.
His speech tonight was more of a reflection of where he’s been rather than a course of what’s to come.
Perry 2016!
LOL.
If Governor Perry can hold off until the southern states have their primaries, he may start pulling off some victories. He has a wide appeal in the southern states.
Well, I must say after all the accusations by his detractors of how vituperative the Perry supporters were- This thread puts the lie to that assertion.
It’s merciful.
When you have to spend so much time defending a candidate that then finishes fifth in Iowa - you picked a bad one.
Who cares? Maybe Ricky can run for Presidente de los Estados Unidos Mexicanos, his favorite country. He always seems to support Mexico and Mexicans over the US and Americans.
I supported him all along ,but if he gets out, we still keep him as Governor, so that’s good.
Conservatives screw themselves yet again, nice work.
“Oops”
