Live thread to cover today's GOP caucus. News, predictions, opinions, totals, and the like.
Will be heading out about 4 pm or so to get our site ready and do a final review with the precinct chairs. I expect it to be bigger than 2008 with very heavy turnout and we are preparing for that.
We are also ready for disruptions. They simply won't be tolerated. The state party sent us a memo saying if there's any trouble call the cops immediately. Anyone trying to cause problems is going to get a rude awakening.
My predictions of the outcome are a narrow field with about a 10 point spread for the top five with Bachmann far behind in single digits:
Santorum - 24 Romney - 22 Paul - 20 Perry - 17 Gingrich - 14 Bachmann - 4 The Rest - 1
Think things are still in flux and many won't decide till right to the wire, so I'm not terribly confident of any predictions.
Chris Wallace is now saying that Mitt Romney will win by 14.
Rove schmove. In one ear and out the other baby!
I just wonder who’s jonesing for a govt or some prestigious
position somewhere for ANYone who’s supports Romney. Don’t trust just about any of ‘em.
Wouldn’t be surprised if Christie could be a Romney Atty General hint.
Now looks like 14 votes for MR over RS .. don’t care. Santorum WON! Can he get his act together fast, get $$$ and a ground org up and running?
True. I don’t want to assume too much, but I think it will.
The polling momentum was/is moving in tandem with the funding momentum.
Anyone know which precinct is out?
Fox now reporting the person with the “official” results of of the last precinct (in Clinton country) can’t be found, but the observers for Romney and Santorum during the counting have been found and agreed the results there were Mitt beating Rick by 18, leaving Romney with a 14 vote win over the entire state. LANDSLIDE MITT.
Election night? It was more like an election month!
“Pyrrhic Victory” Mitt.
Clinton. It’s Ward 2, Precinct 2 in Clinton City in Clinton County
“Why cant Santorum do well up north against Mitt?”
1. union country
2. abortion country
3. liberal country
4. socialist country
5. very big government country
6. nominally religious
Mitt is far less offensive than Santorum I would think than Santorum.
Pure Bullcrap.
Pure Bullcrap.
pronunciation of precinct -— Kee-o-cook
They don’t know WHERE the ballots/votes are!!!
The truck story from AP turned out not to be true.
FOX Rove reports Romney wins by 14 votes.
That’s depressing.
If Rubio is the VP pick he will be VP. Your opinion is not shared by much of anyone.
Let’s not have this stuff about Obama being a citizen or not spill over and be used against good Republicans.
If Rubio or Jindal or Santorum who’s dad was born in Italy are on the ticket and they win then they will be sworn in and they take office and if you file a lawsuit about it the lawsuit will be laughed out of court.
Vote rigging is what is going on.
Karl Rove propaganda
I’d guess Romney’s whinning in his glass of sleepy time milk....I hope he goes all the way down for the count in the wekks ahead when Newt and SAntorum cut loose on him.
Come to think of it....Newt And Santorum have been buddies...either or would likely endorse the other when it boils down to it. I’d vote for either.
It’s Clinton county I believe. Keokuk is in my county and all the votes there were in hours ago.
Oh, good, so that would give us two anti 2nd amendment Attorneys General in a row?
