"The illegals I met last night."
Self | 1/1/2012 | Bern Pearson

Posted on 01/01/2012 8:10:22 AM PST by Gen.Blather

I met some illegal Mexicans last night at a party. Several years ago I stayed with a couple of wonderful Mexican families in the Baja below California. These were well-off people. The homes, on average were beautifully tiled and some of them had mahogany inlaid walls, bookshelves and cabinetry that would cost a hundred-thousand dollars here. So, I’m guessing if they aren’t rich they’re very comfortable. The elderly not as well-off grandfather, while living in Mexico was receiving Social Security from the United States and owned a rent-free apartment in California which he used as his address to receive several forms of assistance checks from Californian agencies. He visited the apartment once a week to re-arrange things and make it looked lived in. He had a car, a Toyota Corolla that looked quite nice and had working air-conditioning. I gathered it was supplied as some form of assistance and he generally left it in California at the apartment. The apartment was about 1100 square feet and very livable. The grandfather told me most of entire complex, easily a 1000 units, were like him, on Californian assistance, but actually living in Mexico.

At the party were a couple of teenage boys from this family. Very nice kids. I’d be proud to have them as my own; diligent, hard working, trouble-free and much more adult than you’d expect from that age. They told me that they’d decided to go to high school in California instead of Mexico. They said that the (California) government gave them an apartment and they travel back to Mexico on the weekends. (I don’t know if they’re staying alone or if a family member is staying with them, but if I had to guess, they came alone.)

When I posted information on this family last time, Freepers angrily asked why I hadn’t reported them. Firstly, I was a well-treated guest. Secondly, this must be obvious to the casual observer. Even if I knew who to report it to in California, which I don’t, it is obvious that this is how it’s done. These people are only taking advantage of “benefits” put there for them. Not to avail themselves of these benefits would be like deciding not to take candy freely offered to you.

Prayers up, Darks. I’ve been following the traffic on the FLA locale page.

Ah.
We had Dunderhead Dan back again last night.
He still can’t figure out how we know it is him every time.

Oh, he spammed you too, eh?
Yeah, I got a missive from our departed boy last night as well.

Yes, all packed including cat hair. This morning I added my house slippers, which I had washed. They’re not quite dry, but will be before they’re needed. I’m thinking about adding “The Iliad,” but maybe I’ll just make do with the recording. I always take more books than I need when I go anywhere.

Just back from my prayer group. I’m getting so dopey that I got lost going just three miles up the road! It’s raining: the petz are sad.

It’s almost comical.
And he always seems so upset that he got caught.

Keep null and void happy (please). I am not in need of more scars.

LISTER and CAT are examining a row of 2-meter high metal cylinders set against a wall. KRYTEN joins them.

LISTER: Anesthesis stasis pods!

He fiddles with a near-by control panel. One of the pods slides out from the wall and begins to open.

LISTER: I must have triggered something.
KRYTEN: Doctor? Doctor Lanstrom?

The open pod pours forth smoke, but they they can't see anything inside yet.

LANSTROM: (Very heavy German accent) And whom might you be?
LISTER: Hi. We were just passing. We heard the beacon.
LANSTROM: Schopenhauer was right, wouldn't you say? Life without pain has no meaning. Gentlemen I wish to give your lives meaning.

LANSTROM sits up in the stasis pod. A howl emanates from her. Her eyes glow a fluorescent red colour

Just once, I’d like to see the Mod’s let him live long enough so I could flame his sorry little leftist butt.

I’m glad to know you’re ready!

I’m not quite pacing the floor (not enough room) but to say I have ants in my pants is close...*snirt*

I’m kinda tired right now, too, but I have to wait for the gal to come and pick up the food for the couple. She won’t be here until 3:30. Ungh.

The last hours are always the longest.

I typically distract myself with heavy reading.

[NOTE: This is Maxwell's original exposition of his TWENTY equations, not the bastardized four-equation set leftover after the ham-fisted efforts of Oliver Heaviside.]

And then there's this:

~ snip ~

This, then is the current situation.

The "hottest" mainstream scientific theory to come along in more than half a century, the next best thing to a "Theory of Everything" (and seriously attempting to become precisely that ...), is not only a Hyperdimensional Model of Reality ... it is another one which, by its fundamental nature--

Can't scientifically be tested!

While a "hyperdimensional model" which can be tested easily -- as this paper will unequivocally show -- for over a 100 years has been systematically ignored.

Is it just us ... or is there something truly wrong with this picture?

Basically, they’re looking for a concept of ‘god’, something they cannot possibly prove or test.
Notice I didn’t say “God” as many in science doubt in Him, though they look for a smidgon concpet of Him.
Hence the chasing of tails in untestable items.
To them, it is as God, untestable, unknowable, unprovable.

Just look at teh global warming ‘scientists’.
Their ‘god’ is either the planet, or the climate depending on what their focus is at the moment.
And all of us who don’t believe in their god of global warming are “planet killing blasphemers” who should be “culled from the herd to ease the suffering of the planet.”

*ugh*

My concern is not metaphysical, but wholly scientific; mathematical, to be precise. I am interested in whether or not Heaviside’s work product fully, and accurately recapitulates Maxwell’s original twenty equations. I’ve not seen any such work cited, and not everyone throwing red flags at Heaviside has a spiritual interest driving their suspicions. Heaviside doesn’t help the matter any with his openly-expressed, vehement bias against Maxwell’s original quaternion notation.

All of the suspicions could be laid to rest with the simple citation of a third-party work thoroughly vetting Heaviside, but I know of nobody who has deigned to begin at Maxwell’s equation set, and meticulously work out the proofs of Heaviside’s equations.

Save that until they have tasted my food! LOL!

I don’t have any garlic bread for them, or dessert, but I did include parmesan cheese. One of these days, I’ll buy the shredded parmesan, just because it tastes so much better!

I figure that if people don’t want what I’ve cooked, they can put it in the freezer until a “regift” opportunity arises ;-).

Dark, raining, sad petz. I told Tom to do his math, and he went to bed. (He really does act like he’s pregnant sometimes ...) Told Sally to do math and she disappeared. Unnngh.

With tales of brave Ulysses,
How his naked ears were tortured
By the sirens sweetly singing?

No, “Ulysses” is Latin, like “Mars Hill” and “Oedipus Rex.”
