I heard Speaker Gingrich mention trying to organize a big write-in vote....but is that allowed under VA law?
The link was to a poll of Dec. 18.
If you look at the internals, Romney has a 12 point lead in the 65+ age group (over Perry). Gingirch leads the 30-44 age group. Ironically, Bachmann leads Paul in the 18-29 group. In another headscratcher, Bachmann also leads among democrats.
Romney is tied for 4th among males and is in 1st with women. Paul is ahead in the male vote. Santorum leads in the black vote and Romney is well ahead in the illegal immigrant vote.

The issues and outcome of the general election are important no doubt but do we feel a little silly considering the archaic and flat-out goofy nature of the Iowa process? Can’t the result be manipulated and/or discounted based on the caucus system’s inherent flaws?
What’s the odds that this poll gets any play in the headlines today? It’s not as exciting as the CNN poll, and doesn’t support narratives that the media wants to drive.
I do believe there is momentum for Santorum. I like Santorum but I do not believe he has staying power. I believe it will do him very little good to do well in Iowa. It will probably be a waste of a vote. Perry already has the record and he will have the money to compete with Romney and he is likely the only one who could compete with Romney.

(From just today. But the effort to split the vote among “Conservatives”, (Oxymoron, because conservatives are supposed to be smart.) is paying off big time. Just like 2008, where McCaing slipped in the back door because these “smart” conservatives were too busy fighting over who is the most PERFECT CONservative.
Here we go again. Santorum, a guaranteed loser.
Hopefully this is just Iowa and not national.
Love it.
The link is to yesterdays poll, something is wrong with your computer, even RCP has it as being polled yesterday the 28th
I agree, Santorum is a wasted vote.
Iowa’s goofy, and polls suck. But three points to consider:
1. Where will the Ron Paul support go after he finally runs out of steam?
2. Who (if any) will be forced to drop out before Super Tuesday by lack of funds?
3. What influence will Trump exert (under threat of running as a 3rd party candidate)?
Being `Bit by a moose` only works if the analogy relates to Gov. Sarah... ;)
But “Conservatives” did not learn one stinking thing from 2008! Not one!
