I have no problem in voting for Gingrich or Perry. I know Santorum is a good choice, too...Just not the right time.

Newt Gingrich's positions are mostly similar to Mitt Romney's positions, both of whom are to the left of most of the other candidates . . .

Yep. And that's what worries me. One has better presentation skills, the other has better hair.

I tend to agree! What a pleasure it will be to watch and listen as Newt EVISCERATES Obama in debates!

Santorum continues his rise in the polls, while Paul & Romney are stuck in the low 20's and Newt has fallen to the mid teens:

Average of latest polling:

First tier
Mitt Romney 21.8
Ron Paul 20.8

Second tier
Newt Gingrich 15.3
Rick Santorum 12.3
Rick Perry 10.5
Michele Bachmann 9.5

The one candidate who has led in the polls all along is “Anybody But Romney.” Ergo, as this article says, the Not Romney who is strongest when the dust settles is the winner (most likely Gingrich since Paul is a nut and Gingrich still leads the rest of the pack).

“Newt Gingrich’s positions are mostly similar to Mitt Romney’s positions, both of whom are to the left of most of the other candidates”

This statement is very misleading. The first mistake is to use the campaign platform of a candidate to judge how conservative he is.

Not only is Gingrich more of a true conservative—he has a lot more fight in him than Romney does.

We need both qualities in a president—conservative views and the ability to fight—if we want to get our country back.

Whether folks will acknowledge it or not Gingrich is the only person running with the knowledge and intestinal fortitude to guide America during these troubling times. I could care less about his past as much as what the future holds for America under the Democrats and the mess we are in.

Have decided to support Newt in the caucuses. Wouldn’t mind Santorum either. I think Newt has the best chance to defeat Obama and would be the best President out of the the bunch. Rightly or wrongly, my paramount issue is to see this president replaced.
Also, it is clear that Perry,Bachmann, and Santorum are swimming in the same pool. Two need to get out or all three don’t have a chance. I say Santorum stays and the other two bail out.

If you’re unemployed, who do you vote for? Newt has driven the race car before. Newt knows the track and how to move obstacles from his path. He sees the conservative finish line because he’s been there before. Mitt sat in the back seat until his democratic chauffeurs dropped him off and waved good bye. Mitt may have studied the owners manual and his instructors all praised him on the beginner track but can he get us to the conservative finish line. Would you bet you child’s/your future on Mitt?

In conclusion, what happens in Iowa and New Hampshire will matter very little, other than to Huntsman who will drop out of the race unless he finishes a close third or better in New Hampshire. All that matters is that when the bulk of the non-Romney candidates consolidate down to one person (again, plus Ron Paul, who will remain in his own little bubble), this candidate looks to gather many more votes than Romney.

And the only one such candidate who can consolidate the Republican vote will be Gingrich. If he just stays in the race and doesn't make any mistakes, he is therefore likely to win. It is the inevitable dynamic after New Hampshire is over.

*** Newt was ousted as Speaker of the House partly due to a coup within his own party lead by.....LINDSEY GRAHAM & his RINO friends. ***

That seals the deal for my support of Newt.

I’m laughing as I type.

The liberals assumed power, put every feel-good liberal tenet into actual law, and the people don’t like it. As a matter of fact the country’s in a very foul mood-and afraid.

So afraid that we’re going to hire a Sheriff to clean up this mess. Sheriff Newt has already told us Barney Frank and Chris Dodd should go to jail. He’s implied he’d make John Bolton part of his posse. Everybody knows he’s mean. Heck, we WANT mean!

Gingrich will be the libs worst nightmare, and they can chalk it up to their own overreach, their own failed world view, their own stupidity.

Gingrich. Who woulda thunk it? I’ll vote for him just BECAUSE the libs hate him so much.

Don't worry, Gingrich supporters -- despite the falling poll numbers in Iowa over the last week, your guy remains most likely to win the Republican nomination.

If that's the case, then what's up with all this "a vote for Santorum-Bachmann-Perry is a vote for Romney" crap?

Newt has tanked at Intrade, down from high 30s to 5.7.
