A Lesbian couple have become the first to share in the US Navy tradition of the 'first kiss' since the repeal of the American military's "don't ask, don't tell" rule.

Petty Officer 2nd Class Marissa Gaeta of Placerville, California, descended from the USS Oak Hill amphibious landing ship and shared a quick kiss in the rain with her partner, Petty Officer 3rd Class Citlalic Snell of Los Angeles.
Gaeta, 23, wore her Navy dress uniform while Snell, 22, wore a black leather jacket, scarf and blue jeans. The crowd screamed and waved flags around them.
"It's something new, that's for sure," Gaeta told reporters after the kiss. "It's nice to be able to be myself. It's been a long time coming."
For the historical significance of the kiss, there was little to differentiate it from countless others when a Navy ship pulls into its home port following a deployment. Neither the US Navy nor the couple tried to draw attention to what was happening and many onlookers waiting for their loved ones to come off the ship were busy talking among themselves.

Oh believe me, she was quite open about it to the point of attending pride parades in uniform and posting all about it all on facebook. She most definitely DID NOT keep anything a secret. So yeah, most definitely factually wrong.
I know “Missy” Gaeta personally and she was bisexual (I am still good friends with her ex-boyfriend who was seriously thinking about a future with her) before she joined up and soon as she did, she was FAR more about marching against DADT and gay activism all while she was serving than she was in serving her country. She was blatantly in violation and knew it when she signed up and while she was serving. I was facebook and real life friends with her for awhile and she was obsessed with her lesbianism and DADT for years. It defined her to the deteriment of everything else. She also has a huge chip on her shoulder about it and believe me for that and other reasons relating to her personality (why I no longer can allow her to be in my life), I worry about her having a security clearance (flies off at the handle, bipolar, delusional, randomly attacks people out of nowhere etc.) Just listen to her interview. Serving in the Navy has never been about serving our country for her, it was always about her, Snell, and being a lesbian. That she was chosen and neither of them look like most lesbians, strongly suggests to me that this was a set-up.
Notice how they didn’t pick 2 dudes knowing that would be much much more poorly received.
The logical next step to this, the Navy will begin producing porn movies featuring the more comely lesbian sailors. This can raise lots of money to be used to pay for each congressman’s office to have an expensive piece of stolen artwork, a vintage pinball machine, and other amenities.
I feel bad for Navy vets.
What difference does that make? Only that somewhat attractive girls become lesbians and the supply of straigh, pretty girls gets diminished.
It’s rather like Arab countries where the sheiks get the pretty ones for their harems while the poor arabs have to settle for horse faces hidden by burkhas or find love with a camel.
Perverts are perverts whether or not they happen to be ‘attractive.’
If they put two typical looking “everything but the penis and testes” dykes out there, EPIC FAIL.

Exactly they wouldn’t cheer Rosie O’Donnell. Sailors don’t mind seeing 2 average or better looking women kiss each other. For that matter neither do I or the multitude of men. (forgive us ladies)
But this is the damn military, not a playboy shoot. They’re making a mockery of our Navy with this crap. And it’s all so casually done.

I don’t care about this issue, much, although I was in the navy for 21 years. Since gays can join the military, it’s unfair to straight people. In basic training, all recruits are required to take showers, in groups of the same sex. I wasn’t able to take showers with a group of women, but gays are allowed to take showers with people of their sex.
LOL! Did you ever seen the movie "Starship Troopers"? It's set in the future and there are coed showers in the military. In fact that scene was the highlight of the film. Merry Christmas.
