Ron Paul: Rivals say he hates Republicans
Christian Science Monitor ^ | December 21, 2011 | Peter Grier

Posted on 12/21/2011 10:41:32 AM PST by presidio9

Ron Paul is now leading in Iowa polls of GOP voters. It’s quite possible – if not likely – that he’ll win the Hawkeye State caucuses on Jan 3. He’s well positioned in New Hampshire, too. Depending on how he does there, Representative Paul could scramble the entire Republican presidential race.

Naturally, in light of Paul’s surge in fortunes, those in the party who disapprove of the Texas libertarian are now moving to attack him.

First up this week was the Weekly Standard, a newsmagazine notable for its (fruitless) efforts to get New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and/or Rep. Paul Ryan of Wisconsin into the GOP race. It ran a piece by journalist James Kirchik about the racist language contained in newsletters issued under Paul’s name in the 1980s and 1990s.

For decades, Mr. Kirchik writes, Paul promoted “hateful and conspiratorial nonsense,” including outlandish tales of racial violence, and hate speech about Martin Luther King, Jr.

This is not a new story – Kirchik and others have written about it in years past. Paul has defended himself by pointing out that he did not write any of this stuff himself and he did not know who the ghost writers producing it were.

Asked about the Kirchik story Tuesday during an appearance on CNN’s “American Morning,” Paul said that it must mean he was doing well, since people are starting to dig up old charges to try to stop him.

“It wasn’t good – but I didn’t write [the stories] and those aren’t my beliefs, so I sleep well,” said Paul.

Then Wednesday the conservative blog RedState posted a piece titled, “Ron Paul Hates Republicans and Everything They Stand For.”

Written by contributing editor Leon Wolf, the piece focuses on

What else do you and Dr. Paul have in common?

Legalizing drugs? Making Iran our new BFF? Disowning Reagan? 911 conspiracies? Anti-semitism? Disowning Lincoln? Sucking up to the Taliban? Repealing the Patriot Act? Taking the border fence off the table?

How about handing the Republican nomination to Mitt Romney, and then guaranteeing an Obama victory with an ego third party run?

PAUL is an ANARCHIST LIBERTARIAN. NOT REPUBLICAN.

HE is trying to destroy the Republican Party along with his mindless followers.

Forget Ron Paul. The Party is destroying itself. There is really no republican leadership in the house or senate. Look at all these candidates, is this the best we can do? Flush them all and start over.

Paul hates Republicans because he isn’t one. Look no further than his resignation letter from the party in 1987 slamming Reagan

http://en.wikisource.org/wiki/Ron_Paul%27s_1987_Resignation_Letter_to_the_RNC

The only reason he is in the GOP Primary is to use the existing apparatus the party has to sell his Libertarian politics.

So you are a follower of Libertarian communism.

May I suggest you read (if you haven’t already) the MANIFESTO OF LIBERTARIAN COMMUNISM by Georges Fontenis. Written in the 50’s.
Here is a link to the original document.
http://afed.org.uk/ace/mlc.html

It is the modern day communist/Libertarian/anarchist BIBLE.

True, the current Republican Party has left its roots, doesn’t care about Conservative Values and is the most disgusting Political Party option.

Except the other one.

And when he doesn't win the nomination, he will not think twice about f--king the GOP and everyone on this website by mounting a 3rd Party campaign. The man is 77 years old (notice how the MSM never mentions this?). He knows that he has 8 more months of relevance in his life and his past history makes it clear that he will take advantage of every second of it.

Brace yourselves!! you supporters of Constitutional Governance. These attacks on Ron Paul are only the beginning of what you must endure to achieve your goals.
Take heart, things are in motion that will be hard to stop. The folks in power are not going to relinquish that easily, you must expect a battle. The name calling and hysterics are only the beginning. Please let us all be brave.

I prefer "Anticonservative." Several uneducated libertarians on this website have been calling themselves "Anti-Federalists" lately because they are too ignorant to recognize the irony: The Anti-Federalists main issue was oppositing to the Aricles of Confederation, and, later, the Constitution.

You can be a libertarian Republican or you can be a conservative Republican. You can't pick your friend's nose, and you can't be a "libertarian conservative."

Gee that sounds awful familiar.

"If the world hates you, you must realise that it hated me before it hated you.

If you belonged to the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you do not belong to the world, because my choice of you has drawn you out of the world, that is why the world hates you." - John 15:18-19
