PHILADELPHIA - A North Philadelphia shop owner said he had no words to describe his emotions upon returning from India, where he had attended his mothers funeral, to discover his store had been looted and vandalized.
Bhupinder Cheema had operated a small convenience store near Germantown Avenue and West Cumberland Street, and had invested thousands of dollars into the business. Over the course of trip to Indian, which lasted several weeks, word spread through the neighborhood that the store had been left unattended.

Yes but these are Obama’s voters. Get with the program, it’s all good.
Amish?
So sad. He loses his father a few months ago, his mother just passes, his wife has a brain tumor, his son has autism and now his store is completely trashed. Words fail me.
TROP area?
You’d think these India Indians would organize into militias. Police do what they can, but they are not omnipresent security guards.

Spread the wealth.
And they wonder why people refuse to live around inner city animals in such places.
They didn't give a rat's ass.
He should have had friends look after the store while he was gone.
Darn shame anybody would do this to anybody else.
And ghetto blacks wonder why their unemployment numbers are running 20 percent or worse.
Turn off the power.
Set comfortable chair in middle of the room.
On table next to chair, flashlight and extra ammo.
Don’t turn on the power until out of ammo.
I don’t mean to blame the victim, and what happened to him was horrible, but I think he should have had the business equivalent of a “housesitter” to keep his store safe until his return.
Well it looks like this dude got a real introduction to the type of vermin that lives in Philthidelphia. Absolutely disgusting what these animals did to this store.
If the neighborhood doesn’t help him rebuild, I hope he moves his business to another neighborhood, one that appreciates his contribution.
It’s a shame that these entrepreneurs from other countries don’t have the geographical awareness or understanding of the urban $hitholes where they are risking their investment capital and their lives. I am a Philadelphia native (moved out a while ago). North Philly is an absolute war-zone and has been for many years. I am surprised his store wasn’t looted while he was still in it. I can’t imagine anyone wanting to open a convenience store in North Philly. Hopefully he didn’t sign a long-term lease and can set up shop somewhere safer.
The man was under duress and alone in the world.
Why do decent people open businesses in cesspools?
Yup. Soon we'll be hearing sob stories about how North Philly is a "food desert," about how none of the big supermarket chains will open there because of racisim, about how residents of the area have to drive miles in order to buy the necessities of life.
Rabid dogs need to be killed - mercilessly, quickly and efficiently.
I suppose this is what insurance is for.
I hope he had a good policy.
